No. Keyes is like Ron Paul. He's starts out saying some really great things, you get to saying, "hey, this guy sounds great", then he says something that is so completely insane you just have to roll your eyes and move along. Roll Eyes

Did Eisenhower when any elected office??

Eisenhower lead the greatest military force in the history of man and helped save the world from the Nazi's. I believe comparing him to Keyes is a huge insult to a great man.

No, that's not what I did. I refered to the fact that he can't WIN an elected office. He has run for senator atleast 3 times and for president 3 times. So far he is atleast 0-6. Doesn't sound like a real strong canidate to me.
As a democrat I agree with most of his social views, but not his economic views.

In late 1991, Former Governor Guy Hunt appointed Alan Keyes to serve as Interim President of Alabama A&M. He serve as Interim President for several months and at the same time he was still employed by the United Nations. Also he was busy running for the United State Senate from the State of Maryland.

During his time that he was serving as Interim President he was on Alabama A&M Campus less than one week all total.

He can win if the GOP can overlook him being Black and quit mistreating him

I'm going to assume you are going to back up that statement with some facts? Or are you going to just throw out slanderous statements?

MISTREATING DR. ALAN KEYES = REFUSAL TO SUPPORT FOR NO VALID REASONS,WHEN DR. KEYES REPRESENTS THE REPUBLICAN PLATFORM PERFECTLY
I hate to tell you all this - Keyes does not represent the majority of Republican voters ideas. While many of you extreme rightwingers may love him, in order to get elected to the presidency it is essential to appeal to the moderate middle in America. The majority of Americans are NOT as far to the right as you. Sorry. Don't get me wrong - I would love it if Alan won the Republican nomination. A Democrat would be elected in a landslide.

Sorry you cant read

Sorry you can't comprehend a question. Your opinion of republicans "REFUSAL TO SUPPORT FOR NO VALID REASONS" is just that, opinion. Show me some proof (ie. facts) or move on.

Yet more moderate black members of the Republican party gets plenty of attention. Again - its his extremism that prevents his success in the party. It has nothing to do with his color. He is little more than a black Patrick Buchannan. He never got very far either.

Sorry Mungo, but that is an outright lie. He was the Republican Senate nominee in 1988 & 92 for Maryland. He received 38% and 29% of the vote in the general elections. He was the Republican Senate nominee in Illinois in 2004. He received 27% of the vote.

As I stated at the begining of this thread, he just ain't a very good canidate. He even went as far as saying Senators should be selected by the State House instead of by election. He is outside of the mainstream for Republicans.

No it is the TRUTH,he was the nominee in elections where 0 serious Republicans sought the office because it was a certain Dem win, being the nominee is nothing when you were the only one

OK. So now it's he was a nominee because there were no "serious Republicans". You make up your BS as you go along because you are to **** lazy to do a little research. Then on top of that you change your story as you go along. You are truly pathetic, and a liar to boot.
The state of Oklahoma had a black Republican member in the House of Representatives for several years. I can't recall his name but he was an outstanding representative and a former college football star. He was a Republican Conservative and served two or three terms, then simply walked away from it to retire...he sometimes appears as a guest on televised polital panels.
