I have resolved to try to stay away from Walmart as much as possible. Although we've had a thread about Aldi in the past, let's make this one strictly for people who have shopped there enough to know which items, besides fresh meats, produce, and milk are keepers or losers! I'd love to know whether people really liked an item before I'll try it (I'm a chicken!) Frozen and shelf stable items especially! Wink

We buy a majority of stuff there and with their double guarantee we try something new every time we go. There are only two things that stand out that we did not like, hubby did not like their sandwich cheese slices, the individual wrapped ones but the ones that are like the specialty cheeses are delicious. (Swiss, Provolone, and Cheddar.) The other item he did not like was from their frozen food, it was the chicken nuggets. As for everything else it is great. We love their chips and cereal, although the Frosted Flake type seem sweeter. Their spaghetti is wonderful and so is the sauce. The beef and chicken rice is good and so is the Velveeta shells type boxes. The sandwich meat, especially the chicken thin sliced oven roasted one is delicious. We also enjoy all their snacks and fruit products, as well as a variety of their freezer items. I was really scared about trying them but so far it has been a great experience and love the savings.
I like their grilled chicken strips. It comes in a large bag, pre-cooked, with a ziplock. You can take out and microwave just the amount you want. I also like their pre-cooked link sausages and their bags of frozen uncooked skinless chicken.
I really haven't bought anything there that I didn't like, but those are a few of my favorite things.
