alleged child predator

can anyone explain why the thread about a serious incident which was a crime against children at a local establishment keeps getting deleted? threads can talk about Chief Logan's alleged incident and give their opinions but parents can't tell what happened in an effort to warn other parents about the dangers and talk to their children. what's the problem Times Daily? I am new, witnessed what happened, never mentioned the guys name and the thread asking what the problem was got deleted also....please let me know what the problem is.

There are alot of discussions without credible evidence. But I am holding this business partially responsible for this and I hope the business is ruined. They allowed this predator to remain around all these children for years, and from what I understand this is not the first time the business knew of the same type of behavior from this man at their place of business. This is not a rumor and I am trying to warn parents of this without jeopardizing the investigation.

So, is your effort one to warn parents or ruin businesses?

Sounds like her true colors are starting to show, if she wanted to back up what she says like maybe posting a copy of the police report somewhere and providing a link to it then maybe there would be a shred of credibility to the story. Can't get someone for "slander" for posting a copy of a police report (assuming the report is legit and not a fake)

One of the posters used a not-so-appropriate word for a certain part of a man's anatomy which could cause the thread to be deleted.

Also, you are admittedly saying you want this business to be ruined yet can't back up your allegations with verifiable facts.

I'm not saying that you are not be believed but I think the TD deleted the thread because it could be seen as slanderous since there are not any verifiable facts at this time.

Perhaps you should contact a reporter at the TD and put a bug in their ear about this situation. Let them do a story on it and then you can post a thread about the subject.

Just my opinion from following the original thread.

I can understands everyone's concerns about slander and ruining businesses, but I can say this for a fact. I have read all the post from the forum and I can say that it is 100% true. The incident did happen, a police report was made and it is now being investigated. As soon as all the facts are investigated then I am sure the appropriate action will be taken.

I don't want to ruin the business, but this happened at this place where some parents feel secure enough to drop the teens off and come back and get them hours later (I don't but some do). In this time this guy has befriended them. This guy is a predator, so we are warning parents. If this had happened at another business we'd name the business, and tell parents be careful and talk to your teens. Maybe the TD should contact the Florence PD and ask them about the incident instead of deleting the threads. I was there, it happened. This is news worthy, you see in the TD all the time the Law & Order naming people arrested but not convicted.

Comcernedmomof2, be patient. I know you want things to happen quickly, but in things like this the police have to be very methodical when it comes to investigating cases like this. They don't want to go to fast and do something that might let a case like this slip through the cracks. Word of mouth will take care of warning people of the situation so hopefully more children won't be in danger.

no that was Concerned Mom, I am concernedmomof2...I am not trying to ruin the business, but I noticed that as I was typing my post this morning I saw 2 posts about the same time that I didn't read until after I posted. Thanks for the input.

Because you are talking abut someone that has never been arrested and convicted of being a predator. Just because you THINK he MIGHT be one doesn't make him one. Not to mention, you are basically blaming the Skating Rink and risking their reputation. After the 1st thread, they assumed you'd let it go because they aren't going to let you have the discussion when you name times and places and full descriptions of a man and even state that the police didn't arrest him but you think he is a sexual predator.

As I said in a previous post, you said the officers talked to him at the rink and didn't arrest him. If he were a sex offender they would have because he would have been violating the law. If there were proof of his activity then they would have arrested him on suspicion of illegal activity with a minor -- but they didn't.

If you want to warn parents -- I suggest you make signs and form a protest in front of the skating rink warning them of what's going on inside.

Bottom line, the cops didn't take him in...he's obviously not a predator in their eyes yet...until he is arrested -- I would let it go on the forums and just stalk the skating rink to make sure he doesn't show up again and if he does, then you can call the cops and have them come out and report him again.

The reason people can talk about Tony Logan's incident at length is because he was arrested and it was plastered all over the news paper. Your incident has little documentation and hasn't been reported in the news media in the paper nor on TV.

Thanks for the input. I'll call the FPD today and request a copy of the report because there is documentation and a copy his previous arrest which DOES exist. Public record just as Logan's arrest. I'll drop it on here and continue to warn every parent I know.

You may want to consider changing your username so people don't get you confused with the other one then. otherwise, it kinda seems like it is one person posting under 2 extremely similar names. Don't get mad, I'm not attacking you, just making a suggestion.

i have noticed there are several on here who use similar names but that doesn't mean they are the same person. first sentence of my post reads " I DON't want to ruin the business" again, "concerned mom" posted that. I have read the forums for a long time and never posted until I witnessed this incident and as a parent want all parents to be aware of this. Now after all of the accusations and people who can't read (go to page 1 of this post to find the original post that i attached to mine saying this wasnt' me), I can see why people get so upset on here. Believe me or not, it just matters that some concerned parents now know about the incident and can warn their chilren. That's all most of us wanted to do.

well, maybe they will ban me. That would be typical for the TD....Why on Earth would caring parents want to know about an possible child predator and be able to warn their children before something worse than a photo happens?

Police reports are not public records. Court records are public, but unless you are the one who made the report or the accused, you won't get a copy of the report.

I had guessed that it might be the skating rink. Isn't it sad that the places where it is considered ok to drop your kids off are the places where the pervs hang out? It's logical but sad.
