Me too E.Z. With all the discussion prior to the public web forum which was viewed by less than 190 people, you'd think there would be even MORE discussions now. Go figure. Especially since the Times Daily is fighting to see documents which I really don't think is any of their business. But that's Just my opinon.

Your opinion is incorrect. The Times Daily is corrrect in attempting to view those documents. The sale of the Coffee Hospital Group is a hugely important issue that will come up soon for approval by public vote of the Lauderdale County Commission and the Florence City Council. The details of the sale are of extremely high interest and importance to the future of the Shoals. The public parties to this sale have no valid reason to withhold these documents from the public. The sales documents should be posted online, consistent with the Florence City Council's established practice of making such information available on its meeting agendas.

There is altogether too much abuse of the Public Records Act in this state by public agencies who want to keep public business behind closed doors. The Coffee Health Group is a public agency and is fully subject to disclosure requirements of the Act. The Act provides no exemption for the kind of transaction that has been agreed to in the sales documents. Shanme on these weasels!

I totally agree ,I am pleased to see the local press take the proper stance (total discloser) in this procedure ,Unlike the historical "in bed with the who's who"role which they have played ,as I remember things.

EXCUSE ME NOT/BETER/THAN/ME/OR/ANYONE/ELSE - My opinion is just that, my opinion. An opinion can not be incorrect or correct. You may disagree with it, but that doesn't make it either one or the other.

If it makes you feel better, I will, and hereby do, revise my statement to say that your opinion, though not correct or incorrect, is based on ignorance, and/or misinformation, and/or misinterpretation, and a serious lack of understanding of the law, and is therefore worthless and could be misleading to those who might be sufficiently unwise and naive as to regard you as any kind of authority in the matter!
