Think about it:

* The US Postal Service is cutting service
* Schools are downsizing/cutting programs
* Essential services (fire/police) are being cut
* Roads going unrepaired
* Continued devaluation of the dollar
* Municipal projects placed on indefinite 'holds'

'The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.'

'When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.'

'And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.'

'An elective despotism was not the government we fought for.' - Thomas Jefferson

Compare our country to a family. You're monthly bills are way more than your bring home pay. You're still going out and buying new cars, big screen tv's, the latest cell phone, the nicest clothes, etc. How are you doing this? You're pawning your car title and writing checks for cash. Each week you're writing new checks to cover the old checks plus a few more to live on. What does the future look like for this make belive family? What does the future look like for America?
I was about to post something like this but you beat me to it.
Here is a story from Bloomberg that states the U.S. is closer to losing it's Triple A credit rating. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/...068&sid=a0a8xAghPS8I

The interesting thing to understand, Interest rates will have to go up to continue to have people with money buy our near worthless bonds to finance our debt. It takes 10% of the governments income to pay the interest, and this at less than 5% interest. If we see interest rates like the late 70's early 80's, that will see over 30% of government income going to interest.

Add to this:
Government agencies buying guns for employees.

Revision of the Patriot act to give president sole authority in the event of martial law and making it easier for the government ot operate outside the constitution.

Government plans for internment camps. Search Rex 84, Civilian inmate labor camps, Operation Garden Plot.

The push for a Federal I.D. Card.

Martial Law is by definition govt. by the military with the suspension of rights. It was used in Hawaii during WW II and Lincoln used it it during the Civil War along with the suspension of Habeus Corpus. Nothing new here.

Rex 84 was a plan authored by Oliver North in 1984. It is just a contingency plan. Govt planners at all levels should have plans for all possible events. It's called All Hazards Planning.

Civilian Inmate Labor Camps. I assume you are refering to Army Regulation 210-35? Read the reg. It authorizes the use of civ. inmates who are under the control of the US BOP or local correctional authorities. It also allows those authorities to construct facilities on Army property at no cost to the Army. If you want to see this in action drive down to Maxwell AFB. You will see fed inmates cutting the grass and picking up trash. They live in a BOP facility located on the base. I believe one of our local ex DAs is doing time there, you might see him.

Operation Garden Plot is another contingency plan that provides for the use of fed. troops and equipment to assist local authorities in local incidents. It has been used to assist local jurisdictions during 9-11 and the Rodney King Riots in LA. So the next time there is a major incident that overwhelms local resources and the locals clamor for fed. troops/equipment think Operation Garden Plot.

If you have a Soc. Security card you already have a Fed ID card. Do you have a driver's license? Hunting/fishing lic?

As for buying weapons for Govt. employees, why not? I sure want my FBI, DEA, ICE, Border Patrol etc. to be armed, don't you? Almost every fed. govt. agency has an enforcement function with employees that are fed. peace officers. Why shouldn't they be armed?

Is this country going through a trying period? You betcha. But keep things in prespective.

As I've pointed out, many times those prisons already exist and contain non-violent inmates. One is on Maxwell AFB. I saw several inmate/trustees working at the post, when I was attending the Air University. Read the regulation and realize the military will only allow convicted prisoners to be interred.
