"The AMA strongly opposed House passage. The AMA's letter to Congress on April 27 urged Representatives to oppose the bill, reiterating concerns that millions of Americans would lose their current health care insurance coverage. The AMA previously expressed their chief concerns to Congress on March 22 and March 7. Read the AMA statement after the bill passed the House of Representatives.

In a January letter to Congressional leaders and the incoming Administration, the AMA reaffirmed its strong vision for America’s health system and our belief that the patient remain at the center of all reform efforts. The AMA is committed to working with leadership in both parties to improve health insurance coverage and health care access so that patients receive timely, high-quality care, preventive services, medications and other necessary treatments."

In the first place it isn't the finish product..

Secondly, "Barry's a liar care" is dead, so what's the country
going to do for Health Care, Single Payer.? All the insurance
companies don't like going bankrupt over failed health care
and only communist leaders want single payer.

This is the primary reason the US Government never wanted
to control health care and never would until the anti American
bambo did it to steal retirement money as redistribution.

Seems to me most of the AMA has pimped their azz to big
pharma and lobbyist. A doctor out there could docsplain
how they feel about it.
This maybe the only time Health insurance can be turned back
to the private world of insurance as before but with reform in
certain areas. bambo threw so many illegals/unemployables
into Medicaid the system couldn't/shouldn't be kept Socialized.

bambo also promised the Insurers they would be reimbursed
if they lost money. The scam was such a failure the feds didn't
have that much money but still didn't stop the idiot from
bankrupting this Country,,, which is a foreign country to him
anyway. His one thing to do was take America down and with
the help hilda, no doubt it would've happened.

I firmly believe that with the continued government in trying to run the health care industry, we will eventually wind up with a government control single payer system.  It will be inevitable.  The Democrat's ACA resulted in unintended consequences because they hoped it would work as they wanted it to.  It didn't.  The same thing  will probably happen with the Republican's AHCA.  Don't know what the unintended consequences will be, but they will arise.  The only alternative is to get the government out of the health care industry.  But that will never happen.  Too many think we need the government involved in everything in order to make it better.  Usually the goverment makes things worse.

No they were not opposed to Obama's great plan, actually they fully supported it, which is why the membership dropped another 10% after that debacle. I would surmise that only about 10% of practicing physicians in the US belong to the AMA, the rest of their membership is made up of free membership given to interns and residents so that they can entice them to join up when they finish. Their fees are ridiculous and they rarely support anything that helps the average working physicians,
