A few months ago someone posted some information here about these heaters being questionable. I've done a search and can't locate the old thread. I believe some links with more information was posted. Can someone post those again here? Thanks!

It's been 2000 years. He's not coming back. Get over it!

My son bought one of these things. He likes it as he said he got it cheaper than an electric fireplace from Lowes.
He says it puts out quite a bit of heat.

On the practical side of the heater part though, it is just a 110v electrical resistance heater, just like you can get almost anywhere for less than $20 as far as the heat/$ it can put out.
Pretty, yes, practical as a heater/electric fireplace, yes, practical as a heater/$ , probably not.

Thanks - I was thinking that someone said they were a big rip-off. Anyway, a relative asked me about it and I thought I'd check for them.
If you're interested in an electric fireplace, you should check out electricfireplacesdirect.com

It's an internet based company headquartered on Seminary Street in Florence.

They have a huge selection of mantel styles to go with the electric inserts. And the electric inserts have a lot more features than the basic ones you can get from Lowe's or Home Depot.
Back around Christmas I bought a DVD at WalMart that is nothing but a fireplace burning. It has the option of playing Christmas music along with it.
I put it in the DVD player, turn on the fireplace only option and have a great fireplace.
With a little imagination I can even feel the heat coming off it. Big Grin
I paid $7 for the DVD and for my money it is better than the electric fireplace.
