Andy Griffith dies at age 86

Another good man gone...Rest in Peace.

A greater man you'd be hard pressed to find!  RIP

Don't forget Matlock and "Lonesome" Rhodes--Griffith was not by any means a one-dimensional actor.

And "What It was was Football" is an all-time comedy classic! "I believe I will have another big orange."

Andy could play the villain, as well as the nice guy.  Well rounded actor!

"Football" was my father's favorite...I've heard him quote from that many times. I was surprised to learn today that was recorded before I was born.

Griffith portrayed a special prosecutor in Fatal Vision. It's on DVD and a surprisingly great movie. I had read the book first and didn't expect that much from the movie, but everyone gave a superb performance.

Goodbye Andy. You will live on forever in syndication. 

He played a great detective/ attorney role. Always loved the way he cornered them in their own web of lies on Matlock although The Andy Griffith Show is still my favorite. Have seen them all a hundred times but still enjoy watching them. 

May Andy and Don share a fishing hole where the fish always bite, clean themselves and jump in the frying pan!

Darling Family members

• Briscoe Darling Jr. — The head of the Darling household, he acted as the spokesman for the group. He was also the leader of the family band, in which he played a ceramic jug. Briscoe was played by Denver Pyle, who was best known for his roles as "Buck Webb" on The Doris Day Show and "Uncle Jesse" on The Dukes of Hazzard.

I only remember him(Denver Pyle) as Uncle Jesse. Never watched The Doris Day show or even heard of it. 

I have no idea why the text is so big here. I tried to edit it but nothing would change it. 

Place text in Word, then set to Times New Roman font at 12 pica.  Then, paste to forum.

 Wasn't Denver Pile on the Grisly Adams show too?

I only vaguely remember that show but looked it up and yes, Denver was on there.
