I cannot believe you all think so poorly of a church run program for people who are having problems. The box is $30 and worth more. The brands are random because the food is bought in bulk by the organizers. There is always meat, vegetables, milk and eggs. It is enough to fill about half to two thirds of a laundry basket based on whether it is more meat or more vegetables.

I was the one who put up the thread.

Thanks for the info on Angel Food! Smiler

LOL, that is no problem. Amazing how the forum comes up on a search. We must be IMPORTANT!
Marian,
I have used the food paks for several months. One of the things I liked about it was the low sat fat, low sugar content. The only thing on the list with a higher fat content would be the corn dogs, and they are no worse than a store brand hot dog. My kids love the cookies and they are always very low in sat fat. Maybe you were looking at the other menu items. They have a lot now.
Sorry you lost your job. Best wishes.

They also have steak boxes that are good. I've grilled them for many people & never had a complaint!

How is the shelf stable milk? Is ti good for drinking or is it better to use it for cooking?
Homesick,
The milk is excellent for drinking. It has a slightly sweeter taste than most store brands. I keep even the unopened in the fridge as I like my milk cold.
Each month the menu will vary and there are 'tv' dinner type meals as well. Every month the main box will always have milk, eggs, and a dessert.
If I bought the same items at a grocery store, it would be well over double the price.
I have never had a bad product. There may be some things you don't like the taste of, but you can always share!
