Rock Group “Junkyard Prophet” Delivers Controversial Message at School Assembly

High school students in Dunkerton, Iowa were expecting an assembly about bullying and making good choices. What they got instead was the Christian rap/hard rock band called Junkyard Prophet delivering an anti-gay and anti-abortion rant.

According to the La Crosse Tribune, after the band performed, they separated the girls, boys, and teachers into three breakout groups. "They told my daughter, the girls, that they were going to have mud on their wedding dresses if they weren't virgins," said Jennifer Littlefield, whose 16-year-old daughter, Alivia called her in tears after the event. Reportedly, one of the band members led the girls in a chant pledging purity and encouraged them to be submissive to their husbands after marriage.

The boys were shown images of musicians who died of drug overdoses. A video of the event shows a band member criticizing Elton John and Lady Gaga for encouraging "sexual deviancy" and supporting laws outlawing homosexuality.

"They told these kids that anyone who was gay was going to die at the age of 42," Littlefield adds. "It just blows me away that no one stopped this." According to student witnesses, kids who walked out were shouted at and ridiculed.

After the event, Superintendent Jim Stanton reportedly addressed the student body and reiterated the band's positive "anti-violence, anti-drug, anti-alcohol" message. He acknowledged they also expressed "an opinion about intolerance that's not in line with the beliefs of the Dunkerton Community Schools." The Daily News reports that members of the band showed students pictures of aborted fetuses.

The day after the assembly, students circulated a petition asking administrators to ban Junkyard Prophet and other groups from making such presentations in the future, reports the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Junkyard Prophet is asking to come back and explain their message, but so far no one is offering them a venue. School officials could not be reached for comment

At some point and time this country has completely lost it's moral compass. We have sunk to a low I don't believe we can ever climb out of. A country that believes being celibate, drug free, and against the murder of the innocent as controversial has no chance of longevity.

Of course the media is going to put their liberal slant to this story and try to make it appear all the kids where running out of the gym in terror, scratching their eyes out and jabbing pencils in their ears due to the "extreme" pics and narratives of liberals behaving normally.

So if hussein is the opposite, that would mean he condones murder, drug use, and pre marital sex?

Why would OBama be the "opposite"? ***?

Why doesnt Santorum have any stance on economic problems?

I didn't read that they were running out screaming. I did read that the ones that "walked out" were shouted at and ridiculed. I'm an adult and I can barely stand to look at pictures of aborted babies. I can only imagine how that would bother a teenager. Now, what would you say if they had taken them in groups to offer them abortion and/or birth control information, or a list places they could get support if they were gay? Parents should be informed about things like this beforehand, and be able to give their consent for them to talk to their children, or the right to withhold that consent without ridicule to them or their children. Is that too much to ask? And again, we do have that separation of church and state thingy to consider. Like I said, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I did not vote for Santorum nor do I support him. How do you feel about hussein?

I'll just put this here.

Alabama's House Bill 133 — which would, if enacted, "authorize local boards of education to include released time religious instruction as an elective course for high school students" — was passed by the House Education Policy Committee on February 29, 2012, according to the Birmingham News (February 29, 2012). Its sponsor, Blaine Galliher (R-District 30), previously explained his motivation for introducing the bill to WAFF in Huntsville, Alabama (February 5, 2012): "They teach evolution in the textbooks, but they don't teach a creation theory ... Creation has just as much right to be taught in the school system as evolution does and I think this is simply providing the vehicle to do that."

What they actually do is destructive, music is just an excuse to get

their foot in the door. I wouldn't want them talking to my kids.
