Chicken Costumes Banned at Nevada Polling Sites

If you want to vote in Nevada, you can’t go dressed up as a chicken. That’s right, chicken costumes banned at Nevada polling sites this year!

Nevada state election officials have invoked a ban on chicken costumes at polling sites on election day. The ban is a result of democrats ridiculing Republican Senate candidate Sue Lowden for statements she made about bartering with doctors for medical care. In an interview early in her campaign, she said, ‘our grandparents would bring a chicken to the doctor.’ She received nation-wide media coverage over suggesting we might go back to a bartering system for medical care and her opponents jumped on her statements as a chance to mock and belittle her.

Democrats set up a website, ‘Chickens for Checkups’. Lowden’s campaign events have been attended by democrat volunteers dressed up in chicken suits.

Washoe County Registrar of Voters Dan Burk said about the chicken costume ban that wearing a chicken suit or other poultry related items at the polls would be an ‘inappropriate and obvious’ advocacy message against Lowden. I suppose that is much like displaying campaign signs near polling places. Any kind of campaign material is not allowed within a 100 feet of polling venues.

Lowden campaign manager Robert Uithoven applauded the decision.

“I think voters will be spared the Harry Reid carnival and that’s a good thing,” he told The Associated Press. “I think most voters are going to the polls thinking about far greater things than Harry Reid’s chickens.”

Sue Lowden is one of 12 Republicans vying for the Republican nomination for Senator of Nevada. The outcome of the primary election will decide who will go up against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the general election. And so, chicken costumes are banned at Nevada polling sites. Early voting began Saturday, May 22, 2010. The primary will be held on June 8, 2010.

"Removed from the ban were "Billy Bob" teeth, as for, in Nevada (as well as Arkansas) it was difficult for officials to determine real, from fake!"

We CAN only hope that YOU will learn to correctly spell such words as "can" and "Reid." We could add the fond wish that you will learn something about capitalization of proper names. You really should be able to get these little things right in a post of such short length.

Old bitter can't attack the message but he surely will clobber the messenger if given the chance.
This Sue Lowden is pretty out there with the concept of paying for our medical bills with chickens. The "sane" one, in the race , was supposed to be Sharron Angle, who thinks putting flouride in drinking water is an evil Communist plot, and who , even as oil is ruining the Gulf of Mexico, wants to futher de-regulate the oil industry.
Kinda makes the chicken woman look a little less crazy.
Check out some of the stuff she has said:

While, I do not see fluoride in the water as part of any plot, the practice is banned in socialist Europe.

Add, that most Frenchies and English are unfamiliar with toothbrushes and you get a nasty situation.

Personally, I use a high fluoride toothpaste prescribed by my dentist.

I was raised on well water. Excellent taste, but no fluoride. I have multiple fillings in whatever is left of every tooth in my head.
My kids were raised on city water. Three kids, 2 cavities between them all.
I'm all for fluoride.
