I was fortunate enough to go to Po boy's yesterday.

For beginners the atmosphere of the place was greatly improved than anything else that has been in the building.

The lunch menu was kind of limited to several choices of Po Boys and sandwiches I had the roast beef po boy and it was great, came with a big pile of fries the fries were large cut and were good as well.

I meant to ask if they had a different menu for the dinner hours, I assume they do since they have a closed period between lunch and dinner.

There are different menus for lunch and dinner.  I've eaten during both times.  They let me sample the rabbit dumplins for lunch and it was delicious.  I've also eaten the crawfish etoufee and red beans and rice, both were really good as well.  The zydeco music and family style seating creates a nice ambience.  Wait and greeting staff are not hard on the eyes either.

Two thumbs up.

I stayed away long enough, but not for any particular reason.  The wife and I finally gave it a try and now fully understand why it's so packed so often.  Why they had to extend hours of operation and are not (seemingly) open every day.  Unfortunately, as comes with such popularity, we were not able to try either of the desserts account of them being totally sold out.

I have been to New Orleans before (City that is, French Quarter and all those restaurants) and this place is authentic and taste as if I was right off there in the heart of the French Quarter or in one of the great restaurants there.  Yeah this place is kind of out of the way and definitely off the beaten path but boy is it popular and the parking lot always full.  Fridays and Saturdays and some other nights (prime time) you better expect a wait to be seated.  I had the shrimp, the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and the Hush puppies were just great.  Everything I tried was wonderful and I'll definitely be going back, if I can find a time when it's not so crowded and hopefully they have their desserts back in stock.

I had the opportunity to eat here again yesterday and will say that I had the most wonderful lunch.

I had the seafood jambalaya which had an extremely great flavor  with large gulf shrimp along with fish and other seafood in it. for a side at the server's suggestion I had the corn mak ashea (please forgive my spelling incorrectness). I was afraid it would be sweet, but was not and I really enjoyed it.

The menu was not the same lunch only choices I experienced before and was quite expanded. I was hoping they would be around long enough to get everything in order, and hope they will be around for a long time. I will certainly be going back as I also noticed their operating hours have been extended as well to not have a mid afternoon gap.

Thanks for the good food!
