Ono, I owe you an apology. A sincere one.
A few weeks ago, I made a post that stated that Jesus commanded that non believers be brought before him to be killed. The exact verse is Luke 19:27 that reads,
"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me"
I stated these words were uttered by Jesus as an example of the hatred Jesus had for non-believers.
You accused me of taking the quote out of context and then posted the entire chapter. I skimmed over what you wrote and then claimed that what you posted did not change the context at all.
I was wrong.
Your post clearly stated that Jesus announced he was going to relay a parable. His parable did, in fact, end with that line but it was NOT Jesus who said those words. They were the words of the character Jesus was portraying in his parable. So, Jesus did say the words but they were not necessairily his words. I DID take them out of context.
As usual, I simply skim over overly-long posts and didn't want to read your entire rant so I completely missed the verse that introduced the story as a parable. You tried to tell me, I ignored you. You then ran off into the night screaming how stupid and hateful I was for not listening. I deserved that.
I happened to accidentally come across another website just a couple of days ago that explained this hateful comment and that's when the light bulb went off in my head.
So, we can still talk about the hateful intent of Jesus's parable. I think it is a sucky story and would never dream of trying to teach my followers a lesson by insinuating a death threat but, you were right, I was wrong.
And I am sorry.
