Ono, I owe you an apology.  A sincere one.

A few weeks ago, I made a post that stated that Jesus commanded that non believers be brought before him to be killed.  The exact verse is Luke 19:27 that reads,

"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me"

I stated these words were uttered by Jesus as an example of the hatred Jesus had for non-believers.

You accused me of taking the quote out of context and then posted the entire chapter.  I skimmed over what you wrote and then claimed that what you posted did not change the context at all.

I was wrong.

Your post clearly stated that Jesus announced he was going to relay a parable. His parable did, in fact, end with that line but it was NOT Jesus who said those words. They were the words of the character Jesus was portraying in his parable. So, Jesus did say the words but they were not necessairily his words. I DID take them out of context.

As usual, I simply skim over overly-long posts and didn't want to read your entire rant so I completely missed the verse that introduced the story as a parable.  You tried to tell me, I ignored you.  You then ran off into the night screaming how stupid and hateful I was for not listening.  I deserved that.

I happened to accidentally come across another website just a couple of days ago that explained this hateful comment and that's when the light bulb went off in my head.

So, we can still talk about the hateful intent of Jesus's parable.  I think it is a sucky story and would never dream of trying to teach my followers a lesson by insinuating a death threat but, you were right, I was wrong.

And I am sorry.

Rant?

So if someone tries to you tell you something different, it's a rant. All of the parable relates to that final line.

But I'm sure ONO will appreciate the apology.

Apology accepted.

But I don't understand why someone would go onto an internet forum, NOT read someone's post, and then respond to it anyway. The poster formerly known as Jennifer used to do the same thing. It doesn't take THAT long to read a post, but if it's too much of a burden to read a long one, I think it would be best not to respond at all. Otherwise you might make a mistake such as the one you are speaking of here.

Seriously? You read ALL of brother Bill's posts?  Every last word before you respond?  You actually read every single word I write before you eviscerate me?  I'm flattered.

I've already gigged myself on this one.  I will never, ever read Bill's books, I'll skim them while I hold my nose just as everyone else does. But I promise to take your posts a little more seriously and will correct myself when I see that I have done wrong.  That's the best I can do.

Unoi , you imbecile, I read every word of your posts, all your links I attend, deep’s posts I read, I watch all of deep’s you tube films and frankly the both of you never seem to amaze me with something I will recommend to anyone.

Here recently deep and I went under contract for him to enlighten me with information. I should have insisted on a performance bond. So far he has lied

Hi Jennifer,

That would not be a bad idea -- to get a Bible and read it.    But, O No has a good point, "But I don't understand why someone would go onto an internet forum, NOT read someone's post, and then respond to it anyway."

If a person is not interested in what another has written -- why bother trying to comment on the intent of the post?   The only answer can be is that the person writing the response  -- only wants to see her/his name on a post.  So be it.

If not interested, then stay out of the dialogue and allow those who are interested to have a civil discussion.   Unless, of course, the main purpose is to hijack the discussion to prevent others from discussing a subject you do not like or believe.

Jennifer, one of the first signs of maturity -- is the ability to show self-discipline and restraint -- and, not muddy the water for others just because you are not interested.

Already, I can imagine the childish responses this will earn.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Wow, Jennifer,

Can you believe it?  Can you believe the audacity, the gall, of a person who will come on the Religion Forum -- and actually quote the Bible?  Why, that is almost as bad as a person who will go into a restaurant and expect to find food there!  I just cannot imagine it!

Jennifer, thank you for making us aware of such a person.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

So, You are your mother's daughter, I thought so.

Bill, it's amazing to me the things you say to others that can be applied to you. How many times have some of us on here tried to have a civil discussion & you hijack it with your silly post making fun of us, & calling us children?

Signs of maturity? You frequently muddy the waters for all of us.

And, yes, I can already imagine the childish response I will get from you for my honesty.

Hi Jennifer,

I will make you a deal.  I will stay out of ALL discussion you begin -- if you will stay out of ALL discussions I begin.   How about it?  Do we have a deal?  Sounds like a real winner to me.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Did I miss something? I certainly didn't usually agree with Jen, but I never saw her say anything that was "ban worthy."

What did she say that could get her banned? She has said no worse to Bill than I have. If he did get her banned, maybe I'm next?
