First of all I want to say that I absolutely LOVE the APPLEBEE'S IN ATHENS. I was hoping that the Applebee's in Florence would be just as pleasing. However, after a trip there this past weekend, I will never be back. First of all it took us forever to get seated. Which would have been fine, but there were 5 empty tables that needed to be cleaned off & the waitresses were to busy flirting with other customers. Any way, we were finally seated & ordered. The grown ups in our group ordered steak & ribs. The kids ordered their usual corn dogs & fries. We got all of our steaks & ribs first. About 10 mins later the kids got their corndogs. One of them took a bite & said mom, this is cold. Not only was it cold, the hot dog was STILL FROZEN. So was my other sons. We told our waitress & about 10 mins later we had new corndogs, these were darker on the outside so we thought, maybe they were done. Boy were we wrong. I cut through both of the new ones & they were still frozen! We went through 8 corndogs before we got 2 that were cooked all the way through. We were all finished before the kids even got something that was edible. I could have over looked the first time, but come on, how hard is it to get a corn dog right? So that is why we will stick to the Applebees in Athens. Thanks for letting me vent.
HAPPY HALLOWEENIE!!!!

It looked as if they had cooked the ribs first then added the sauce as a topping. Well thats not how i do my ribs, maybe i'm spoiled. I just dont like ribs dripping with sauce.

agree 100% on all true barbeque, sauce should be served on the side. I know some will disagre e with mw, but this I know!
Isn't it amazing the difference ONE person makes in a restaurant??? I know it's a team environment, but if they have a less than stellar manager, everything seems to go to hell in a handbasket...
I know that individual employees have good days and bad days, but it is sad to see a great establishment crumble under the helm of an incompetent or complacent manager. JMO.
My family and I ate there Tuesday night. It was a disaster. We were seated right away but the server in our area would not wait on us. He served the table across from us and the ones two tables down on our side but would not take our order. Finally someone came over and asked had we been served and I said "No and you have about 2 minutes before I walk out of here". He explained that our server was new and that he would discuss this with him. I should have left then but I didn't. We finally got our food. My son and I order the steak combo. Neither of us ate the steak. It had no flavor. Might as well have been chewing on rubber. It will be a long time before I go back, if ever.
