For the first time since President Obama took office, voters see his policies as equally to blame with those of President George W. Bush for the country’s current economic problems.

The economy was certainly in trouble when Bush was in office but Obummer has seemingly tried to do everything he can to make it worse.

I don't know when the "honeymoon" should end, but he did deserve one. No president could undo what Bush did in a short time. In fact, we may not have had enough time yet to correct the problems even if we had a president and congress doing everything right. Obama lacks eith the ability, the desire, or both to make the needed changes, and more people are seeing that.

What would you guys suggest that he could do to fix the problem?

It would cost him re-election, but he should, at minimum, have replaced Bernanke with someone who would put the brakes on inflation. That's unpleasant for a few years, but leads to long-term improvement. He should have also, at a minimum, put a freeze on spending. Those would have been good starts.

inflation is not the problem at this time. In fact, there have been several months recently when the rate was negative (deflation).

We have not been in a deflationary period. Inflation is not a major problem at this very moment because there are investments that seem worthy of dumping all the newly printed/borrowed money into (though some suspect bonds might be next). Still, the money has been borrowed/printed, and no efforts were made to improve the dollars purchasing power.
