Many will recall that on July 8, 1947 witnesses claimed that an unidentified
object with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and cattle ranch outside
Roswell, New Mexico. This is a well know incident that many say has long
been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and the Federal Government.

However, you may NOT know that in the month of March 1948 exactly nine
months after that historic day, Albert Arnold Gore, Jr.; Hillary Rodham ;
John F. Kerry; William Jefferson Clinton; Howard Dean; Nancy Pelosi; Dianne
Feinstein; Charles E. Schumer and Barbara Boxer were born.
"Except for ending Slavery, Fascism, Nazism, and Communism; war has never solved anything!"

Sorry to rain on your idiotic picnic, but this is perhaps the single stupidest post I've seen on this message board, even if you WERE trying to be funny.

I hate to confuse your cute little notion with facts, but they speak much louder than your ridiculous insinuation-- an insinuation that reveals for all of us that you MUST be the head of the fact-checking department at the TimesDaily. Oh, wait-- if the TD had a fact-checking department, perhaps it would be less of a laughable rag. Also, they could use some copy editors who do a little more than run 'spellcheck' and call it a day.

Bill Clinton was born August 19, 1946
Hillary Clinton was born October 26, 1947
John Kerry was born December 11, 1943
Howard Dean was born November 17, 1948
Nancy Pelosi was born March 26, 1940
Dianne Feinstein was born June 22, 1933
Chuck Schumer was born November 23, 1950
Barbara Boxer was born November 11, 1940

Albert Gore, Jr., was indeed born in March of 1948. Perhaps the aliens DID endow Al with the intelligence to know that it isn't supposed to be SEVENTY DEGREES IN JANUARY. But, hey, global warming's a myth, right??

I guess one out of nine isn't bad for a knee-jerk Republican who's terrified of the coming horrors the GOP will face as the newly-ordained Democratic legislative branch begins to strip away six years of Republican deceit, looting, corporate coddling, and global misdeeds. This made for a cute story, but you're full of it.

Do some research before you start typing. Your president's administration was equally ill-informed when they made the decision to sacrifice American lives for cheap oil, democracy for all, and a peaceful Middle East, which-- TA DA!-- never materialized.

You stand as a great small-town example of the stupidity and ignorance of the GOP. Thanks for your contribution.

Sheesh.

You'll pardon me if I ignore political predictions from a guy who chose as his screen name a term straight out of Nazi-Aryan Supremacy propaganda.

Say hello to Hitler for me when you arrive at your 'final destination'. In the meantime, sit back with a bowl of popcorn-- or bratwurst and sauerkraut, if that's more appropriate-- and watch the future unfold.

Perhaps, for giggles, you could point our attention toward a Republican candidate with a snowball's chance in hell of beating WHOEVER the Democrats choose to run.

having toured Area 51, I never say any aliens -- bodies or space craft.

However, its well know that the real Al Gore passed away years ago. Democrats replaced him with a Disney animatronic robot. Which, explains the glitches in speech pattern and dancing skill (lack thereof). His wife hasn't complained, because he's more lifelike than the original model.
riiiiiiiight, Interventor...Gore is such a dimwit that he won the 2000 election and George W. Bush had to enlist the resources of his daddy, little brother, the Supreme Court (full of daddy's appointees), and a whole shady mob of fixers to wrestle the Gore's honest victory away from him by refusing to count all of Florida's votes...
I'll take an Animatronic robot who knows his stuff over a guy who has to have news articles summarized and delivered to him, Cliff's Notes style, over his breakfast each day.
dbt,

The TD website lists Myra Arnold, Elizabeth Hoekenga, and Jay Thwaite as copy editors.

I have said many times to many people, including several at the "newspaper" itself, that it is clear that "copy editing" at the TD consists of running a spellcheck program and leaving it at that.

The problem with this is that when a word is used in the wrong context, it slips through, as in:

"A minimum wage hike could put the breaks (should be "brakes") on the economy." Spellcheck won't catch this, because it's spelled correctly-- just applied pathetically incorrectly.

There are dozens of examples of such buffoonery each day, and nobody at the "publication" seems to care a whit-- they're too busy typing up and printing verbatim the press releases sent to them by Bobby Irons or the University of North Alabama.

The TimesDaily is small town, slapdash journalism at its absolute worst.

I hope that Ms. Arnold, Ms. Hoekenga, and Mr. Thwaite are content to work in Florence, because I seriously doubt they'd last a single issue at a publication that is even remotely concerned about its image.

You need to lighten up before you have a stroke and fall on your keyboard. Wink
Maybe you should help PBA in his quest to rid the world of all things Republican and enlighten all of the rich, conservative, southern redneck, KKK members that have been brainwashed by the corporate media and inhabit this forum. Roll Eyes
Something tells me , by your posting style, you and he would get along great. Big Grin

And before you label me as a die-hard Republican, go back and read some of my posts.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm it was a joke and I grew up (if I can say that) in a "town" with more people than the state of Alabama.
It was intended as a cute witicism, but since I have achieved your vaunted pinnacle of stupidity, further posting is redundant. I would like to thank my mom and dad and of course the lead paint in my crib.
And you are right Nancy Pelosi scares the hell out me...I love children born and unborn her vicious support of 3rd trimester killing and no minor childs parental notification for killing the unborn is beyond my minds ability to believe.

Yes, global warming is probably a fact. Mars is also experiencing global warming. Perhaps, those 3 rovers are to blame. More likely, plasma flow fluctuations on the sun. Explains the warming trends the Earth has experienced in the past.

I dont really worry about global warming, it'll reduce our dependency on heating oil and provide more time for farmers to grow. I get to stay at the beach longer...OK so we lose some icecap and by proxy perhaps a few feet of coast line. I think it's a good thing. sounds crazy I know, but I'm gonna embrace change

I think if you had been a active member of the forums for more than a couple of days and had known anything about me you wouldn't have cause to blow up.

Do you honestly thing I'm a Nazi because I choose a name that came from a in a 19th century philosopher who died decades before WWII?

I stated the Obama couldn't win because of his lack of experience. That statement combined with a German forum name that means and all of a sudden I'm a Nazi, lol.

OK...I'll take you word for it...but I have a sneaking suspicion that if I had a forum name that was something along the lines of "DasKapital" or "ReligionIsOpiateoftheMasses", then made a post that seemed to criticize capitalism, you'd be tempted--rightly-- to suggest that maybe I'm a bit of a Marx fan, and thus maybe a "pinko"...and then refuse to believe me when I excuse the matter by pointing out that Marx died long before the rise of the Soviet Union...

But, hey, it's a free country, and I support your right to allude to the Literary Godfather of Aryan Supremacy any time you want.

Keep watching. While I agree that it was a mite chilly this mornin', unless you spent the weekend out of town (in Saskatchewan), you probably noticed that it was shorts-and-t-shirt weather in which one could comfortably wash his car...
If we get so much as two inches of snow accumulation this winter, I'll personally issue a commendation to you on this board for your prescient grasp of warming trends. But I expect summer to be here in about ten days, so I doubt it will come to that...

If you will do some research the writings of Nietzsche were about the individual and not a group much less a race. Select portions of his writings were used by Nazis decades after his death but they used bits and pieces of anything to support their political philosophy. I suspect had you attended a University and taken a philosophy course you might know this. Instead I'm sure you googled it and immediately because an expert on the subject.

I would suggest you take a step back next time you infer someone is a Nazi because you disagree with them. You only make yourself look bad.
Herr Ubermensch,

I, sir, hold not only a bachelor's degree, but a master's as well, and am highly conversant on the history of the world, particularly of Western Civilization in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries...

So, while you make a valid point concerning the application of Nietzche's philosophy, I ask you:
Is it a particularly kind thing to walk around humming Wagner symphonies in the presence of Jews?

Wagner died in 1883, and couldn't have known his beautiful music would be blared into the ears of Jews being loaded into cattle cars...but blared it was, and it served as the soundtrack of death and torture that accompanied the humiliation and agony that was visited upon the innocents Hitler exterminated while extolling the virtues of Nietzche.

The swastika, as you may know, is a geometric design that has been found in the artwork of American Indian tribes from centuries ago...but try wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with it, and you'll likely be viewed as making a pro-Nazi statement...

Likewise, the designers of the Confederate battle flag couldn't have imagined that one day it would grace the rear windows of countless pickup trucks as a not-so-subtle racist message cloaked in the guise of "heritage"...but these things become symbols, and we should strive to recognize the modern significance of such symbols, and we should realize that the message is conveyed-- no matter how ardent a case you may make in defense of it...

I support your right to have any screen name you desire, but don't expect not to be called out on it if it contains references that immediately remind many of us (ourselves unburdened by a need to feel 'supreme' over those of 'lesser races') of some of the nastiest times in the last century.

Regards.

Wagner was anti-Semitic. The Swastika was an ancient Egyptian symbol of the Sun and life.

Perhaps you should reevaluate your authority on history. I guess your Master's is in Business, or better yet, Education?
Onewhoposts:

Look it up. Along with the ancient Egyptians, the swastika is found in ancient Navajo art.

Oh, and if the guy wants to make jokes, I assure you I'm the last person who ever gets accused of lacking a sense of humor-- he didn't approach it as a joke, never said he was kidding, and posted it in the "News Forum". I suggest he try the "Lame Jokes By Disgruntled, Misogynistic Republicans" Forum, or, since that seems to be lacking, perhaps the "Entertainment" Forum...

I really was not trying to predict what the weather will be like in the future, near or far. Fact is, the weather can't be accurately predicted more than 5 days out. It is simply too complex, so it makes me laugh when the experts tell me what the weather will be like 100 years from now.

Yes we are on a warming trend. However, you can't just look at the past 50 years and say that we are headed towards climatic doomsday. It's just as likely that it is cyclic and one hundred years from now we could be on a cooling trend.

The data that has been used to calculate how much the earth is warming is flawed as well. It does not take into account the heating effect of growing urban areas where much of the temperture data is collected. As the land is developed and populated, the surface temperature actually increases. These higher temp readings are then used in the temp calculations and do not accurately represent what is going on.

As for the carbon dioxide greenhouse effect theory, I'm not sold on that as of yet. When I see the graphs depicting how much the CO2 levels have increased over the last 100 years, I can understand how it gets people on edge. However, if you look at the scaling on the graph, it becomes obvious how they get the steep slope that makes it look like it can't be anything but the CO2.

The bottom line for me is that I believe Jesus Christ is coming back to collect his believers one day. Therefore, human life will still exist on earth.

I thought your original post was very funny. I am neither Dem or Repub as I don't put too much stock in politicians as a whole. I vote for the person, not the party. It's too bad some people can't see the humor and get seriously perturbed by it.
Onewhoposts--

Glad to see we agree on something:

"Do you own rubber gloves?"

"No, I rent them...I have a lease with an option to buy."

"I'd like to hire you to perform a special service for me. I'll pay you cash, discreetly."

"Does this involve my dressing up like Little Bo Peep?"

One of the best movies ever. Don't need to rent it, as it sits on my shelf along with The Jerk, anything by Monty Python, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development (the TV series, not the rap group) and Trailer Park Boys.

I firmly believe that frequent and uproarious laughter adds significantly to the length and quality of one's life and am in constant search of something at which to laugh. No comment on whether I find such material on the TD forum.

Actually, Uber, yes I do... Bush's PAST before he ran for President was very very little. He was only a Gov. for a very short time before he threw his hat in the ring for Presidency... so what makes that different?

Bush came from a Polital family and has crashed and burned so many times, especially in these last 2 years when he became a lame duck President... he has NOTHING to lose, so he is trying it all.

By the time he leaves office, the 70% of this country is going to be so sick of Republicans they would even take Kerry.... so enjoy the fact that Obama/Hillary CAN make it... there are over 2/3rds of the people wanting a change, needing a change and DEMANDING a change.
