Artist destroys his own work after it sells for 1.4 Million

Art destroyed by the artist after it's auctioned off

I just don't get art! I don't know who is crazier the people that paid 1.4 Million for the work shown or the Artist who drew it and then shredded it? Then again maybe it's the person that is now considering that the value might be higher, even double, what it's value was before it was shredded. From what I gather from the article this particular artist that is responsible for the work auctioned is considered kind of crazy and the type that could do anything anyways.

I figure New York has it's share of folks like this but when I think of the painting going for 1.4 million dollars I just wonder ... what are people thinking?
