50 years ago today (actually yesterday) , President Kennedy challenged the nation:
"Ask NOT what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"

A couple of years ago we had another presidential challenge "Is our children learning ?"

Did you notice? He took the phrase "weapons of mass destruction" and changed the word destruction to deception, a word of similar construction and sound, but with a totally different meaning. A stroke of pure genius. His
analogy of the former president and his cabinet as a "tribe of lying weasels"...brilliant.

He's my Dad, you know.

Alas, my son, that little word game I was playing is not my invention. It has been widely used elsewhere, so much so that I saw no need to
formally credit it to others. For the record, though, I hereby acknowledge that I am a borrower of, not the creator of, the operative term that so delights your youthful sensitivities!

And maybe some day, you--you dunderheaded dingbat--will come to understand that history is important and that those who ignore its lessons are doomed to repeat their prior stupid, ill-considered actions.

All I hear today is what can my country do for me. I want my country to give me healthcare. I want my country to give me a job. I want my country to feed me. I want my country to give me a house. I want my country to give me a cell phone. I want my country to make all illegals citizens.

Oh, you arrogant dick, I understand that history is important. That is why I oppose any President who follows the mold of that bastard FDR.

Did you ever think, I mean REALLY think about that "challenge"? No? Let me help you out. All we need to do to highlight the danger inherent in that "challenge" is to change a couple of words and see how it reads then... here we go...

"Ask not what the Fatherland can do for you, ask what you can do for the Fatherland."

Recognize it now?

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama sees his secretary of defense just about every day, but he still flubbed Robert Gates' name on Thursday.

Gates was in the crowd for Obama's national security speech. Pointing him out, the president said "William Gates" was on hand. Perhaps Obama was thinking of Bill Gates, the Microsoft billionaire.
=======================================
Obama, touting an element of his stimulus package, said that a tax cut “began showing up in paychecks of 4.8 million Indiana households about three months ago.”

That struck our reader as odd because the Census Bureau pegs Indiana’s population at 6.3 million, of which one quarter are under 18. What’s the likelihood that the remaining 4.8 million Indiana adults each constitute their own household?

Not likely at all.

When we asked the Indiana Department of Revenue how many tax returns are filed annually in the state, they said the number is around 3.2 million, and that includes both joint filers and individuals.

So clearly Obama was wrong
===========================================

"I had a uncle who was one of the, who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps," Obama said, "and the story in our family was is that when he came home, he just went up into the attic and he didn't leave the house for six months, right. Now obviously something had really affected him deeply but at that time there just weren't the kinds of facilities to help somebody work through that kind of pain."

After several conservative bloggers and Fox News Channel pointed out that the Auchwitz concentration camp was liberated by Soviet soldiers, not Americans, Obama's campaign clarified the statement.
==============================================
And how many states are in the US? According to obama anywhere from 57 to 59.

Dunderhead dingbat!!! LOL! I lost it when I read that today (and my reaction earned me a few curious glances from my co-workers). I think "dunderheaded dingbat" would be a great new moniker for stuck-in-the-trailer-park.

Beter, I don't think you realize how funny you are, without even trying. More, please.
