Friday is International Blasphemy Rights Day, a day for atheists, freethinkers, and others to celebrate the right to criticize, satirize and reject religious superstition.

International Blasphemy Rights Day takes place every September 30th. The purpose of this event is to support free speech and to oppose any resolutions or laws that discourage or inhibit free speech of any kind.

Blasphemy Rights Day came about as a result of the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy.  On September 30, 2005, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published 12 political cartoons, most of which depicted the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.

The cartoons led to Islamic protests across the Muslim world, some of which escalated into violence. Damage included more than 100 reported deaths, the bombing of the Danish embassy in Pakistan, setting fire to the Danish Embassies in Syria, Lebanon and Iran, and the storming of several European buildings.

International Blasphemy Rights Day is a time to to protest any attempt to prohibit free speech, and a day to remember that some countries punish their citizens with fines, imprisonment, and even death if found guilty of blasphemy. The following countries criminalize blasphemy:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Jordan, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan.

So bill, you think people shouldn't have freedom of speech? You think people should be hunted down and killed for speaking against your god? This is the "loving religion" you want to push off on people? Once more you show your true colors. This is what you want for America. Sick. And I remind you, April Fool's day belongs to the christians. After all, it is the day people try to make others  believe ridiculous things.

Hi Jennifer,

Once again, so that you will not be confused.  What I wrote is:

 Hi Vic

Thanks for the info.  But, are you sure you have not confused the dates?  I would have sworn the day is APRIL 1ST.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Now, how did YOU get YOUR mind twisted around other words I did not write?  Are you so eager to prove me wrong -- that you will dig up "so called statements" from me which I did not write -- so that you can find something to deny?

I know that atheists have very little to support their beliefs and lifestyle -- but, my Friend, why not try a wee bit on honesty?   You may be amazed at how good it feels.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Bill, I'm sure you know by now that twisting people's words is Jennifer's forte. But I agree with you, this time she's outdone herself. You make a small joke about April Fool's Day, and she translates that into "you want to hunt people down and kill them"! Now, to me, it sounds like she is either jumping on any post she can to spread her hatefulness and bitterness, or else she needs psychiatric help.

Most likely it's both.

Please show me where I twisted any words? I based my opinion on what you posted bill. That's not twisting.

Hi Dark,

What did I write?   Judge me for what I write -- not what you BELIEVE I meant.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Let's discuss honesty, bill, is this a true statement? Were you being honest when you posted this??

PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY CHAPLAINS! -- Our very liberal, very secular CURRENT government has tied the "spiritual" hands and  feet of our military chaplains -- and, then asks them to serve the spiritual needs of those serving in our military.  As of today, our chaplains cannot teach what the Bible teaches -- that homosexuality is against the will of God.  Our chaplains are to pray -- but, NEVER, NEVER mention Jesus Christ.

And, the reason?  Our very liberal, very secular CURRENT government believes this will upset the atheists, Muslims, and those in other world religions.   But, let me ask you.  How many atheists, Muslims, Buddhist, etc. -- do you think WILL be attending the Christian worship services -- where the chaplains are NOT allowed to pray to Jesus?

Bill, is this a true statement? Are you being honest?

Hi Jennifer,

IF you had ever been a Christian -- I am sure you would have heard of Joni Eareckson Tada.   But, you say you have not, I guess that settles it.

Bill, we could fill up so many pages with your word twisting and posts insinuating things about people that I am very surprised that you'd have the nerve to claim someone has done that to you. Post after post of your stupid little question to someone-"are you trying to tell us something". When I ask you why you discriminated against g a y s you posted your insinuation that I must be *** for asking that and you used that "is there something you'd like to tell us" line. I called you on it, of course you never responded. You are not man enough to ever own up to the crap you pull.

I know that atheists have very little to support their beliefs and lifestyle

Support what kind of lifestyle bill? Care to elaborate? Tell me about atheist's lifestyles. Tell me about mine, then tell me how you know.

Hi Jennifer,

Yes, I believe I am.  Joni Eareckson Tada is a very well known lady and evangelical speaker -- so, I find it hard to believe that most every Christian has not heard of her.  But, for someone who played at church as a teenager -- and for the next 10, 20, 30? years has run fast and hard away from God; I can see how that person has not heard of her.

But, this link will tell you more about her, her accident, and her life since the accident -- truly a God inspired story:   http://www.joniearecksontadastory.com/

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Hi Jennifer,

Don't  just huff and puff -- DO IT!   I would love to see what you consider "nasty" from a Christian.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
