Anyone else feel like the Auburn football program is in big trouble? Firing Tubbs so soon after the loss to Bama shows panic by the Auburn Athletic Director. No coach with any hopes of a future wouldn't touch the Auburn job with a Dicker Rod, knowing what lies in store if he can't win against their arch rivals. And with Saban coaching the Tide now Auburn has a long row to hoe. They are already having new recruits reconsider their commitments. The next few years will be hard on any coach they hire, even bringing Tubbs back wouldn't stop this ship from sinking.

Now, I'm a BIG Bama fan, but I do hate to see them completely fall apart like this. And if you don't believe it's happening just go over to al.com and read the Auburn football forum. It will be a long time before they are a formatable competitor again. But I'm sure Miss St and Kentucky will welcome the competition for last place
An optimist sees the glass as half full while a pessimist see the glass as half empty.... Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi simply looks upon your glass as being too big.

You know, After I had several Auburn Fans tell me during mid season that they pull for whoever is playing Alabama, one of them told me that it isn't natural to pull for you enemy. They are getting everything they deserve.

As far as hiring a coach that can get the team back on a competitive standard? I think they can but they will have to come off their pocket book some and find a coach that will tell them how he is going to run his football team and don't let the Alumni and Administration run it.
Sorry im4uhonee but you are so full of crap you need a septic tank! You admit you are a BIG Bama fan and you are acting like one. Auburn will be fine and we do not need your condescending attitude about our coaching vacancy. Looking at your schools track record for coaches in the past few years shows the same knee-jerk reactions. If you want to believe Chicken Little's "The sky is falling!" reports you hear on al.com, go ahead. How about the same reports that Saban will be going back to the NFL? I don't put any stock into those reports either!
HA! Isn't it GREAT to live in the SEC! We argue like brothers and sisters with each other but let one of those Yankee schools criticize one of us and we all rally together!
God Bless the SEC!
First of all, let me say that I pull for neither Bama nor Auburn. Auburn will go through a couple of down years before they get back on the national scene. They need to pick a coach who is going to be there for the long haul with the goal of building the program, not just someone looking at the job as a stepping stone to a better job. Alabama was out of the picture for almost a decade due to bad coaching picks. Auburn needs to stay away from those mistakes. I know Tide fans are in heaven with Saban, but I have a feeling he will bolt somewhere else if and when the win a national championship. He is a great coach. However, he doesn't seem to stay satisfied for too long before getting the itch to take on a new challenge.

Because Alabama fans don't say the same things? Please, quit with the better than thou attitude.
I think the coaching change at Auburn was due more to the same forces that tried to replace Tubby with Louisville's coach years ago but had to back down when Auburn had such a winning season. I think Auburn and the folks responsible for this decision will end up regretting making it but on the surface it does boggle the mind picking someone with as little head coaching experience and then with a losing record to replace someone with all be it a bad years record but, in my opinion, a great football coach that has had a pretty good run at Auburn and also with the ability to draw great recruits. I'm also an Alabama fan but I'm an Auburn fan as well and I feel Auburn made a horrible gut reaction decision based upon the point difference in this years Iron Bowl. The only College that I feel made a larger blunder was Tennessee in their move to unseat Fulmer who, although I didn't like, I felt did a good job overall at Tennessee. Time will tell but I feel that Auburn fans will have very little patience with the new coach given his current record if he can't pull a Saban Miracle at Auburn within two years.
