The Auburn boards were on meltdown. Willis was fired, then rehired by CheeseWhiz at a lower salary. He recruits the Mobile area well and is a good lb coach.
This is from Tidefans.com.
"This is like musical chairs.

LSU - yea we got Chaves from Tennessee
Tennessee - yea we got LT from Alabama
Alabama - Yea we got Willis from Auburn
Auburn - Waaaah someone stole my chair"

Kinda sums it all up lol.
so would that mean that kevin steele and lance thompson know what's up too?

btw, petey smith was never committed to auburn. he stated just a week ago that it was between auburn and alabama. and yes, his brother is on the team at auburn, but has repeatedly stated he would love to play against his brother.

i would imagine willis isn't exactly high on the karma list right now. this hire just opened a whole new door for negative recruiting for every school in the sec.

He's already bringing an Auburn commitment with him which makes it even sweeter.

Really? Who is that? If you are referring to Petey Smith, then you are wrong, he was never committed to Auburn, he was down to choosing between Auburn and Alabama. Willis is a good hire...for recruiting. This is simply a recruiting motivated hire. He has been a good coach, with the potential to be a great coach, but won't make a huge difference on the defensive outlook, because D wasn't Auburn's issue in the first place and the LB play wasn't anything to write home about. This will hurt Auburn recruiting, only in the immediate weeks leading up to signing day. Luckily, he stayed around Auburn long enough to help the new coaches create relationships with prior recruits, if he would have jumped ship earlier, it may have made a deeper impact. Funny how, to Bama fans, he was a horrible recruiter who couldn't recruit Mobile 2 days ago and only went after 2-3 stars, and now, he is an awesome recruiter (this goes both ways with every hire though). You got a good one, but I hope he regrets it come November.
