Just a polite suggestion - I don't want to name names but there are several posters on here whose avatars are huge. Although they revert to a smaller size after the page loads, it causes pages to load much slower because these large images must download. On the instructions to upload a custom avatar, it says that the size must be 48 x 48 pixels. It is easy to resize an image in a program like Photoshop.

GF once gave me the name of some programs that resize, and I know the program that came with my digital camera will resize anything. I agree, it is a little disconcerting, but my page goes back to normal pretty quickly with DSL.

Images can also be resized with Paint, which is included in Accessories in any version of Windows. You can open a picture like this:

in Paint; click Image; click Stretch/Skew, then replace the 100% in both Stretch boxes with a smaller number to reduce its size. 12% makes the squirrel look like this:

If I use a link from photobucket, can I do any thing about its size? I don't know how to do an upload yet, but I'm reading!
