I'm assuming you're talking about the one in Florence ? Closed down..again? Has to be due to poor management or it might be a health dept. issue. I eat at the one in Corinth, MS quite often. If you catch them right at lunch, they are the best! Also, what about the one in Muscle Shoals ? Okay, I'm hungry now..gee, thanks jhall...lol
I would have to say it's not the best location for a fast food restaurant. Sure, a lot of traffic passes by there each day, but it's not the easiest intersection to navigate your way through. We used to eat at one in Franklin, Tennessee all the time (the first one we ever saw in fact). Their food was really good back then. Over the years it seems like it's declined - along with the size of the meal. Unfortunately the price hasn't reflected the change.

It might fare better if the new Hampton Inn was open. Then again, if it really is closed, it's probably for good this time. Hopefully somebody can take over the property and make some good out of it.

I agree. I tried Hardee's thickburgers after you mentioned it a while back and it was very good.
I have been to Backyard Burgers a couple of times. It is a good place to go for a quick lunch. Both times, once a noon, and the other time, at night, the place was filled with employees who had nothing to do. The night visit, there appeared nobody was in charge. The employees were in and out of the restaurasnt, hollering at kids who were obviously friends, and going out to talk to them, then back into the restaurant. I would suspect that a lot of food goes out the drive-thru window without being paid for. Again,
nobody in the place looked like "management."

Yes, I would say from a casual observation, labor costs were killing the business, in ratio to the amount of sales.
THE PROBLEM WAS OWNER MANAGEMENT
They did not have a clue....I have been in there at night, when there were more employees standing around than customers coming in all night...
The concept of CONTROL YOUR LABOR COST TO X NEVER CROSSED THEIR "Gee! McDonalds is getting rich ....its easy....lets start one!" BRAIN FART...
Living proof some people have more money than common sense...
