I thought more of you than this, a post like this is more along the lines of something that WH would post. Lets see:
"At another Wal-Mart location the customer 'service' desk showed me a log-book of these left-behind items. It was full of literally thousands of notations with description of the product that were 'forgotten' by the consumers. Who wins? The consumer? Never!"
Why would they log it if they were trying to cheat you? That would be proof of the scam. I'll tell you why they log it, so when people come back to say they forgot something, they can go back and check. And some of them dont even do that. Ill give you an example:
My wife and I were shopping once, got home and unpacked everything and couldnt find an item we bought. Checked the receipt, sure enough it was there. So I called to store to see if I left it. Muscle Shoals said they hadn't seen it, but if I brought my receipt in they would let me get another (I dont remember what it was but it was worth less than $10.00). I went to the store and got another, only to find out later that it had rolled out of the bag and under the seat of my car. I felt like an idiot when I took it back to the store, but I felt good about the fact that Walmart didnt ask any questions over an item that was worth less than 10 bucks.
Now why would they purposely keep your items just to give them away for the sake of customer service? Those bag racks are designed for speed. Only someone with an axe to grind would say any different....

Whats it like to be that person here in our little forum 'family.' Its apparent in many threads that there is no one here that cares much about your opinion. But dont worry, you can always create another id to come in and agree with you. I hear that is your m.o. anyway.....
I am 5'1" tall. I cannot see the back of the carousel. beterU gets attacked over nothing this time. I do like to be served by the same cashier. Obviously this problem has been of some concern to people or the article would not have been written! Wait for a good reason to attack beterU! Some people on the forum would attack beterU if he quoted the 23rd Psalm word perfect from the KJV.quote:Originally posted by gracies old man:
If you are so careless as to walk away w/o the merchandise you paid for, at any store, you are the one with the problem, not the store.
Unless you are less than 3' tall, you can easily see the bags on the opposite side of the carousel.
The carousels were designed for speed, not deception.
More unnecessary advice from Betern. Even the hated Sarah Palin wouldn't be that puerile.

Yes and then proceeded to post a story from the RIPOFF REPORT to back up your assertion that W/Mart is ripping people off on purpose by this so called scam. Won't wash.
The website's bias is so obvious from the very beginning of the story.

True dat
I've left stuff behind and I usually pay attention to stuff like that. Most of us just wanna get the heck outta there so we just glance at the carousel and sometimes I guess just miss something.
I got a cashier who must've been a street-hustler or something once, 'cause she loaded and spun that thing around so fast I probably looked like I was trying to play the Shell Game guessing where the stuff I saw a second ago went to.
quote:On another note: I purchased some "fresh" salmon at a Wal-Mart store; it was stinking rotten when I opened the package, so I froze it before returning it the next day (to prevent smells in my refrigerator). i returned it the next day, but the following day I went back to the store for another reason and observed that another customer was returning the EXACT (!!!) same package I had returned 2 days before. Obviously, instead of doing the right thing, they simply put new cellophane wrap on my package and put it back on the shelf.

If you think the majority of this family is queers and liberals, what are you doing here?
Jeepin is no hypocrite!!

Things are looking up. Went to Wally World in Russellville Friday. Changed my mind and went to Foodland, place was packed, no parking except far away at the end of the lot. Makes me feel good because folks are going somewhere else
besides Walmart. They are getting tiresome with their buyers sending stuff not related to this area. I think they are getting a little gunshy.
Keep up the good work.
quote:Wal Mart is really good at calculating the 'profit per square inch' of their products (the amount of profit they make off a square inch of shelf space). So, if something is only profitable locally, it doesnt usually last long.
Sad but true.....

If we had a Publix here, people could readily see the difference and Walmart kust might be forced to add product lines in order to compete. As it is, all too many Walmart patrons just shop like sheep and take what is there and never concern themselves about what is not available because they don't realize how meager the offerings are at Walmart.

Just what do you expect a business to do? its not "sad'...its good business sense.

Its sad because Walmart no longer has the ability to serve their local markets because they look at overall numbers. Serving a local market brings in more customers who would more than likely shop at local grocery stores (as many here have said they do).

What exactly is "sad" about it?
I think it is safe to say ,Walmart has gotten this far without your help...they just may survive a little while longer without it too
Its called good business sense...duh!
