Anybody take interest in good beer? I'm having a hard time finding a store with a decent selection here in the Shoals. I work in Huntsville, and usually buy my beer there before making the trip home. The best selection I have found here is KC's, in Petersville. However it's nothing like what you can buy in Huntsville. Any suggestions?

They've got a decent selection, but they are primarily American brews. Nothing wrong with that, but I'd like to shop somewhere that carries some of the bigger Belgian ales, etc. I saw the Wine Seller just yesterday, but they were closed. I'll have to check them out.

I will have to check out the Wine Seller.

I think we may be talking about the same place. I believe it used to be named KC's, I just never noticed the name change.

It almost certainly has to be. It's next door to Fox's Pizza Den. Still, as a local craft beer lover I have not come across a local place with more choices, though it's quite limited compared to what's available in Huntsville. The guy that runs the place (Johnny) is dedicated but badly hamstrung by his supplier and the total lack of a viable craft beer marketplace in the Shoals. He pretty much always has the same stuff and it mostly just sits there getting old.

The Wine Seller on Court St. has some of the specialty beers. You could give them a try.

Agreed. The Wine Seller has a great selection and they let you buy singles so you can get a variety and see which ones you like. BTW, try the Woodchuck Draft Cider. They are one of my clients and they are great folks (and the cider is good, too).
Went to the Wine Seller today. I certainly wouldn't call it a great selection (there's not much there) but there's definitely items I haven't seen around locally. You can mix and match, buy singles, etc. There were definitely some Belgians there too, but since they're not my bag I can't make any recommendations. Definitely worth a look, no swill to be found, plus they said they can probably get other stuff if requested as long as it's available in the state. They look like they're trying. Let me know what you think.
