Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.




"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

One thing though, nowdays, ALL they would have to use was the LAW!!!! And no one has the strength to do that!!! It is just plain sickening!!!

ALL of our political leaders lack strength and power to uphold the LAWS right now... and it is obvious!!!

That's a good idea. They did such a good job with their own country, we should let them do the same thing with ours. I'm sure groups like MS-13 will make great new neighbors when they buy a house next door to you. I hope you can speak Spanish and enjoy chicken fights!

Not to change the subject but I gotaa tell you guys this. About 7 years ago I was at the wave pool at Point Mallard. Right next to me was this guy (average white redneck guy) with like six different magazines about ****fighting and supplies for it. I couldn't help myself from continued peeking at what he was reading.

He was so open about it, he may as well been reading the NAMBLA swimsuit issue in public. I just thought that was odd. Ok, back to our rants....er discussions.

Hey, try selling a children's book about a ****er spaniel on eBay. To make matters, worse the subject of this 1934 children's story was a gay little ****er.

I also had problems listing some pottery signed by an artist whose last name was Humphries. Go figger...

You are partially correct! William Randolph Hurst (the newspaper barron) thought that the MExicans were taking jobs away from Americans during the depression, and since MJ was their drug of choice, decided that the best way to rid our country of them was to make MJ illegal.
He lobbied congress to make the weed illegal. Congress couldn't figger out how to illegalize a weed, so they required a federal license for the sale and distribution. Then they didn't issue a license to anyone!. The first drug czar had no concept how to make the common weed illegal, so he launched a scare campaign against MJ drugged people raping your daughters.
Produced films and the whold thing. Must have had some effect tho, cause a lot of people still believe that stuff.
The whold thing would be funny now in retrospect if we had ever gotten over the whole thing.
