....apparently 'entitles' one to speed through school zones, run traffic lights and ignore STOP signs. At least that's the impression I've formed after 8 months of observation. What gives?

David,
I'm always cautious about what is to follow whenever I hear a sentence start with, "I don't mean to be [fill in the blank], but..." You counted drivers on cell phones, and then you calculated the ration of women to men. I wonder if you also counted the ratio of women to men drivers as well?
In other words, 17 out of the 22 cell phone users you saw on the road might have been women, but statistics can lie. You saw a total of 22 cell phone users out of how many? Let's say 60 drivers. If 45 out of the 60 drivers were women, then your 'finding' isn't any more convincing than those other statements that start with "I'm no [...], but..." in my opinion.
And David, you might want to stop counting cell phone users and watch the road!

quote:Can't figger how women were able to survive before just a few years ago when cell phones let them gab away from their cars. Just don't understand how they were able to get by.
Guess they had to get all their words in at home before they got into the car

You need to come to Florence. I drive through UNA every morning. Speed limit is 25mph from 7:30am- 3:30pm. I almost get ran over by people going 40 to 50 through there and guess what. They are not Black. So you need to get off the Color thing cause it's a people thing.

If it were WHITE women doing it, I'd say so. But it isn't. Neither is it Hispanics or Middle Easterners OR Asians. NOTHING I have stated bears ANY HINT of racism.....just FACTS as observed by a TRAINED OBSERVER.
