By the way there was a few forum members who got got to eat the best local barbecue two nights ago.
I hate i missed the 2nd best bbq unc,.... Wink and Ricks, i dont consider bbq. They dont cook it on premises. Look for hickory beside any bbq joint and more likely than not, its good bbq.

I've seen pictures of your ribs and they certainly looked good. Wink
I agree Miami,..... Southern is good as is Whitts in Athens. Mullens is good when you can catch them open...... they must have some weird hours. There used to be a place, and i think it was on Gunwaleford Road that sold real good bbq,... just a concrete block place with a drive thru. But i dont know if its still there or even the name of it.
The new place in Lexington at 64 just west of 101 crossroads there is fantastic! Pretty and pink and lots of outside meat to boot! The sauce is good they make, but I still use my vinegary Bishops most of the time with it. Of course, if you don't want to drive 20 miles to eat bbq, but for us in the Greater Lexington-Loretto, we desire it greatly and now regularly. When the wind is out of the NW, I can get a whiff of hickory burning at our place on Second Creek . . .
