Sam's Club and I don't think you have to be a member either to order at the deli. The Hot Dogs are big also and with a 32 oz coke for . . . I think around $1.79 isn't bad.
I still get a craving now and then for corn dogs.
i like the chicago style that you get from that cafe in florence.
No matter that brand though, when at the supermarket, my wife always insist upon the purchase of "Beef" hotdogs Eating out we don't have those choices.
It is not greasy like the Nathan Dog...Vienna Dog is good, but National Hebrew in a national contest beat Nathans and Vienna...
There are many ways to cook a hot dog...simmered, boiled, steamed, grilled (flat or chargrilled,Deep Fried, hotdog grill with rollers, etc...but the best according to national tasting scores the one perfered method over all was the Chargrill...Folks like the slight char taste with the crunch of the crisp outer skin.
The best Hotdog Bun is the Potato Bun due to its mellow, soft taste that says,"Hey! without me you are only getting half of the enjoyment"

Anyway, in my opinion these two brands can't be beat.
Now the exception .. at least to Nathan's. When at Sam's Club I, from time to time, choose to purchase their Hot Dog special which is made with Nathan's Hotdogs. Thing is that these Nathan's are different from those we purchased in the grocery store and were MUCH better. It wasn't even a contest as to how they tasted. The Sam's deli Hot Dog is a great deal and taste very good.
As for cooking methods, trader seems to have covered most of them. Like the many ways you can cook shrimp, from the Forrest Gump movie, there seems an endless list of ways to prepare Hot Dogs. I too favor a chargrilled dog but I also enjoy a Hot Dog that is slow cooked on the dedicated Hot Dog cookers (rollers that roll the hot dog as they cook it) and then placed on a bun and "steamed" in a steamer.
Too bad Dairy Queen seems to have vacated the area because I have heard that they have a pretty good dog also but guess I'll have to take folks word on that.
Glad to hear about Trowbridges as I have thought often about trying one there and now I have another good reason to (the great report).
Sparkey's in Tuscumbia! Plus a great home made corndog!!!! Batter is homemade and it is like a footlong dog!!

Wish I had the recipe for their chicken salad...it's so good!!!
Trowbridges; Great Sundays, Real Hot Fudge! You've convinced me, it's on my to-to list now.

Sam's dog and drink deal is the best deal in town. The dogs are great and they provide plenty of condiments, including kraut, which is an essential in my book!
Mug.Com has some of the best food around, hands down.
Hotdog and 32 oz drink at Sam's is $1.79 and worth twice that!
I might also add that the Hot Dog you get is the extra long Nathan's just like the commercial one and not the ones they typically sell in the stores although you can get bun length in the stores if you look.
