Best place to buy sod.

we use Murphy Bros. What kind of sod are you wanting? Bermuda or zoyzia(sp) - I know Zoyzia is $150 a pallet and Bermuda used to be $75. They usually only cut on Thursday or Friday.

We got some from Grassland several years ago, but it was too far to haul it. If it is not strapped down good it will blow off and you will lose several squares of it. Too expensive to lose

I would not buy from Lowes - no telling how long it has been laying there. It is way dried out and close to dead.

If you are around Elgin, Charles Walton on Bluewater is very reasonable. He'll cut when you order.

I've always had good luck with Murphy Brothers. They have good quality stuff at reasonable prices.

If price is a concern, there is always seed.

Speaking of sod, anybody know where I can get some centipede? It's hard to find!

I would like to know where to get some grass too.

From what I've been told, centipede is a very "iffy" proposition around these parts. It very often won't survive the winter.

I have it in part of my yard for about 4 years and love it! Its a beautiful grass and very hardy, the reason I want to put it in the rest of my property. Its also a slow grower which means cutting is not as often- another big plus!
