isn't there a bit in the bible that states clearly that the end shall come like a thief in the night? that no man shall know of the coming of the end before hand?
if the bible is correct, then that sentance alone means that if any person predicts the end on a certain date, then that person is automatically wrong, and that there is no way the end will come on that day as long as someone expects it to happen.
so.. if the bible is to be believed, all we need to do is to expect the end to come every day, and then it never will

when i pointed out to her that i don't care how somethign appears, i'm goign to shun the things that acctually ARE evil, no matter what their appearance is. the scruffy lookin guy down the street turns out to be a really great guy, kind to kittens and strangers and old ladies, but looks and dresses like a serial killer... seems evil, but isn't.. while on the other hand, this guy is a preacher and a boy scout troop leader, has all the appearance of a good guy, but he spends far to much time in the company of young boys, and grinning and sweating the whole time. i'm gonna put him on hte creep list, even tho he's a deacon in your church .
