veep,

Not to be nasty or brusque, but I'm not interested and Jesus died thousands of years ago. Are you saying you eat the flesh and drink the blood of a living being? That really would be vampirism. Is it any wonder I'm not interested?

veep, I like you, but I wonder if you've ever considered all this stuff outside the framework of an indoctrinated religion? You're under no obligation to do so, but have you ever tried?
Actually, I spent years of my life as a non practising non-denominational Christian. I have always believed in Jesus, God, the power of the Holy Spirit, etc.
Now, I suppose if I were to remove the Eucharist from the context of Sacred Scripture, it would sound quite barbaric. But, since when we receive Eucharist, we believe that we are following Christ's instruction, it ceases to seem that way.
I look at it this way- and, of course, I believe in Jesus, so it's easy- Think about all the miracles He performed. Transubstantiation is a pretty minor task...no heavy lifting. Smiler He did incredible things on Earth: Turning a little bread and wine into the Elements of the Eucharist is "cake" with the immense power of the Holy Spirit.
I became Catholic as an adult, as it was most on par with my beliefs and convictions.
I believe firmly in the Eucharist, and I truly do believe that it feeds me spiritually.
As far as vampires go, I get my fix with the Twilight series, not at the Holy Eucharist. Wink

In short, it's clear to me that turning a cracker into the flesh of a particular, long-dead human, and wine into this blood, and all for reason of spiritual benefit, is sorcery.

I don't believe in sorcery, and people who do are Medieval.

Hi Deep,

While VP and I disagree on his Eucharist; we do agree that Jesus Christ is VERY MUCH alive today. After His death and resurrection -- He was physically seen by over 500 people, over a 40 day period, before He ascended into heaven. So, yes, he is very alive -- and will return to earth one day soon. I do pray that you have a change of heart before that day.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
