In the Duke rape case in Durham, NC. Mike Nifong, the District Attorney used the black community to get elected DA. He stirred the community up about the rape of a girl and vowed to get justice against 3 white boys. He continued until it was obvious he had no evidence to convict, but the election was over. The community bit, hook, line and sinker. Mike Nifong, DA Durham County, NC.

See, people only hear what they want to hear, and never question, we make excuse or justification for these types that use us.
Nifong should be removed from office. He went public with his investigation and boasted that he would find justice. A DA should never go to the media and promise to the whole country that he already has the people responsible for the crime and intends to bring them to justice.

He couldn't even get an indictment. And many have heard the saying that a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich, so it really isn't that hard to get one.

All three of the Duke students should sue Nifong (there may be some immunity issues to consider). I bet if you did some digging into the investigation, you'd find many things weren't quite as they seemed.
WHY? Nobody was outraged or even upset that Don Sigelman and Richard Schrussey (sp) prostituted the the principles of the black churches in B'ham in two or more trials to achieve their ends. Now they won't even speak to the same church people. One older politician said they OutN*****ed me this time but not again. People stop falling for this phoney baloney and think for yourselves not your wallet.

And THIS surprises you???

It is one thing to promise a new highway or lower taxes. It is quite another to promise to convict three people without knowing, or seemingly caring, whether or not they were guilty.

Oh brakefield, don't misunderstand me... I am agreeing that this practice is WRONG, but politicians will say ANYTHING for that vote... I think that some would sell their very soul for it... and in this case, I think this DA may have done that.
