You apparently suspect that the perpetrator(s) is/are a person or persons who entered this country through an "open door" of legal or illegal immigration and is/are not native-born American(s) such as the most notorious domestic terrorist of our era, the Army veteran Timothy McVey?

No, I'm thinking more on the lines of a muslim terrorist.

The person of interest is now a suspect.

Not any more.  That person of interest, a Saudi, has been cleared.

So he can sue. I'm waiting for the lawsuits to start flying.

____

I doubt that he will sue.  The first suspect in the Oklahoma City bombing was a young Muslim man.  He was soon cleared.  I am personally acquainted with a notable journalist who interviewed the young man.  He was very hurt to have been identified as a suspect, but also was very thankful that the swift investigation of his whereabouts promptly exonerated him.  He had no notion whatsoever of suing, since he fully recognized the need of law enforcement authorities to explore all possibilities.

But the inexplicable silence from federal law enforcement did not deter the Iraqi soldier from pursuing his litigation against me and KFOR-TV. I viewed that litigation as an offensive weapon which enabled me to subpoena Al-Hussaini's immigration file - that information, coupled with a photograph of a military tattoo on his upper left arm, provided a rare opportunity to deconstruct the Iraqi soldier's murky past.
