I think the city worries about everyone crowding together on Crest Street and in McFarland Park and not social distancing, that said I think its too early to tell how things will be by July 4th, the virus is a rapidly changing situation. I understand not having the music acts because those have to be booked in advance but I think they could have waited until a few weeks before July 4th before deciding on if they delay the fireworks or not, it's 1 of those things that could be a great decision or not a necessary one. Fireworks could be bought in advance so if they deemed them not safe to display July 4th the fireworks would still be good (fireworks don't get old in a short period of time like that) to display for Veteran's Day.
