I'm betting your family only tolerates you because you're family. I'm betting they can't stand you and hate to see you coming.

Do ya'll not have ANYTHING to do but spend your time berating christians and trying to prove that God doesn't exist? Do you not have jobs? Children?  Hobbies? Whether I do or do not believe in God is not the issue here. I'm only saying that some of you need to get a life!

Of course, this IS my hobby!

Hi, my good friend. I couldn't find your original post, but will debate you on one issue here. I have read that 47 percent of Christians believe in the rapture. I'm sure each poll would arrive at a different answer, but we can go with that one. Most religious bodies do not. Methodists, Lutherans, Churches of Christ, Catholics, etc., do not.

God commands his people to take care of the earth, and since we have no idea when Jesus will return, that is something we should do each day, not say "Oh, well, no point."

I realize many barely have food and clothing, so their priority is not what's best for the soil, air, wildlife, etc. For us in the U.S., we should definitely be putting the environment before personal gain.

I couldn't help but notice that they will pray in a manner that has long been held to be constitutionally permissible, but that they will NOT pray in a manner long held by the courts of this land to be unconstitutional.  But the Brooks proponents of public address system prayer were NOT "right" concerning the basic issue in dispute, namely whether school system (i.e. government)-controlled and government-directed sectarian prayer is constitutionally permissible within venues controlled by the school system (government).

Yes Contendah! It is their right to openly pray, either in the stands or standing around the flag pole. As long as it is not organized or lead by faculty. It is awesome to see citizens exercise their freedom of speech.  However they are still not content to have the same basic rights as the rest of us. They still think they should be allowed to control the PA and broadcast their prayers to the whole school audience.

What really amazes me is that they don't understand why they don't get their way based on being the majority in this area. As a close friend said recently "Brooks Lions should pray for a Civics teacher"

She, as a private citizen not involved in her role as a teacher, could indeed do so.  She would have as much right to do that as the Brooks pro-prayer people have to trot onto the field and say the Lord's Prayer as they did the other night. However, should any large number of adherents to various belief systems decide to invoke the same kind of right, it could delay the start of the game.  I don't worry too much about that, though.  There are probably not many Rosicrucians, Scientologists, Hindus, Druids or similar groups hanging around Killen.*

Then ttttttake that up with Valentine.  I do not speak for him or for other public school (government) officials in this or other matters.
