Earlier, only Nixon could go to China.

But now, George W. Bush is continuing American political endorsement of communism by encouraging trade with communist Viet Nam.

Apparently, it's not enough that Wal-Mart's new slogan is "We buy made in China so you can too" (or is it 'Weewon China, and wonton too'?). Nor is it enough that billions of American dollars are being spent building Chinese factories in a nation where families face communist-government-mandated one-child-per-family policy forces abortion on every woman whom becomes pregnant twice.

Unbridled greed is the culprit behind U.S. endorsed loss of good-paying American jobs to China.

The rule, rather than the exception, is that there is never enough money to be made.

It cannot be said that 'no families were harmed' in the making of "free trade."

When, in the name of free trade, Americans' jobs are deliberately sent overseas with the tax forgiveness blessing of government, there are clear winners and losers.

The recent death of Nobel Prize winning economist Milton Friedman who advocated unbridled "free trade" as a method of building personal is an interesting case in point of governmental fiscal hypocrisy.

It was Friedman who, in large part, designed the current system of federal tax withholding about which most everyone complains. And, it was Friedman whom later said he was a Republican because it was the expedient, not because he believed in their ideals (though he supplied them with ideas).

It certainly seems clear that those radicals have been the source of much of our modern fiscal problems.

Forget about so-called "tax-and-spend liberals."

A Republican (Reagan) tripled our national debt, and when there was a surplus, it was a Republican (Bush II) whom spent it and a whole lot more in the blink of an eye.

No one's family- not yours, not mine, not your neighbors, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, enemies- no one can live like that, and neither can (nor should) the U.S. Government.

It's time to put the George Bush II supersized federal government on a pay-as-you-go diet!

A very interesting observation, not accurate but interesting. As most of us will recall it was William Jefferson Clinton who signed NAFTA into law. You, of course, may prefer your version if it fits your agenda. We all have a right to be wrong but not about the facts. I do not care who is in office or what their party affiliation is. Anyone who would spend hundreds of millions of dollars for a $200,000 a year job is not an honest person, maybe an idiot, or maybe both. You decide....quarrles
Oh wow, sure will be nice when people actually stop using excuses and blaming Bill for everything going on now. Millions a day goes to Iraq, and I don't THINK Bill Clinton is president? Geeeeze, people, think for yourself instead of throwing excuses, and especially the lame ones using Bill Clinton, they are so old they are dusty Roll Eyes
LOL, Kindred you are so right! Its been how many years since Bill Clintin was in office?
besides if he was sooooooo bad how the hell did he manage to get this country OUT OF DEBT,,,left over from ANOTHER member of the Bush regimes time in office
Very well stated. I have to agree. I don't shop at Walmart. Their practices and rules towards employees are the same as those in sweat shops. Their latest is to have all of the workforce part time so they don't pay overtime or for insurance. Walmart is a drain and burden on local business who try to stay afloat.

Can't blame Bill for what's wrong. Need to look at Bush and his Dad. 2 out of 3 Americans think we should pull out of the losing battle in Iraq.
Oh WOW indeed! I really have to smile about how just three little words, WJK, bring them out of the woodwork. Good for you. You all defend him, his actions and behavior still require defense. As for Bush, now there is a piece of work for you.Got us into the preamble of WWIII all by himself, or did he? He sure wasn't my choice for the job but look what you had running against him, talk about sorry....quarrles

Quarrles, says that Clinton Signed NAFTA into law. WHAT HE DOES NOT SAY IS THAT BUSH ONE NEGOTIATED IT.

Friedman did advocate unbridled "free trade" but HE ALSO ADVOCATED LABOR RIGHTS AND PROSPERITY. His free trade policy INCLUDED THE RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE FOR WAGES AND WORKING CONDITIONS.

He was a Republican and he supported much of the free trade policy of the Republicans, but he opposed the union busting, and spoke out against it. HE JUST DIDN'T GET MUCH ATTENTION WHEN HE DID.
Ed, you are correct!!!

And from what I know, the Republicans DO STUFF then try like heck to blame the Democrats... that is their favorite thing to do...

Something goes wrong... OH WELL, it was that Democrat President a hundred years ago that started it... we just finished it!!!!

Republicans, I have noticed in the last couple of years do two things REAL good... and that is play the BLAME GAME, and to LIE to the public!!!!

I am sick to death of Republicans that I would vote for snoopy the dog right now to get them OUT of the White House!!! Roll Eyes

Yep,Bush 41 introduce NAFTA,could not get it passed. Then the far right winger republicans who was in control of the house press Clinton to sign it into law. For Clinton to get any of his bills passed by the republicans he had to go along with the republicans on NAFTA.NAFTA was a Bush thing!

In the last 4 elections, when there has not been a Democrat to vote for, I have voted for my daughter's cat.
After the lies and witch hunt the Republicans did on Clinton, I doubted whether I would ever vote Republican again (I actually have on occasion in the past), but GW Bush made it clear to me that I will never again vote for his party. I have been a Christian for years, but now I am so sick of the evangecials openly preaching from the pulpit demonizing Democrats, I'm about thru with many churches too.

China sells more US T-bonds
By Shangguan Zhoudong (chinadaily.com.cn)

China sold more US treasury bonds in April than any time in at least seven years, a signal that the nation may be diversifying the world's largest foreign-exchange reserves, Shanghai Securities News reported today.
Statistics from the US Treasury Department show that China sold a net US$5.8 billion of T-bonds, the first drop in holdings since October 2005. Japan remains the largest holder of US T-bonds, with its holdings reaching US$614.8 billion in April, according to the statistics.
China remained the second-largest holder of US T-bonds, as its stake fell to US$414.0 billion in April from US$419.8 billion in March this year. The United States had US$4.4 trillion of tradable bonds in April.
As an effort to diversify its forex investment channels, China also established a new specialized foreign exchange investment company named the State Investment Company to focus on investing in high-return bonds, stock markets, real estate and private equities. Analysts estimate the company may start with US$200 billion in capital.

Maybe you should vote for someone instead of against someone. Wink

It is almost FUNNY about the way things change in this nation... That comment, which was only a short sentence out of a long comment (why didnt you get the entire comment???)...

Anyway... today, with what is going on... I would absoultely LOVE to see every single person in Washington to get booted out... and go around the country and find poor dirt farmers and put in their place...

ALL of them... Democrats AND Republicans!!!!

They have ALL shown their worth... which is NOTHING to date!!

OK

The first three comments are just your opinions, which you are entitled to.
The last comment was your plan of action, that's why I said what I did.
That was just IMO. If you think voting against a Republican will help this country....go for it.
There'll be some that wouldn't vote for Fred Thompson, because he's a Republican and an actor.
There'll be some that wouldn't vote for Hillary because she's a Democrat and a woman.
Me, I'm gonna vote for whomever I think can do the best job, no matter what their party affiliation is. Always have.Maybe that's why there are problems in this country, people are so fixated on voting against someone, they don't give a **** who's elected. But what do I know, I haven't voted for a winning President in many years. Smiler
IF YOU CAN"T BEAT THEM, JOIN THEM. I'm from Florence and have been working in East China for over a year. they have more freedom here than we have in the states.Just don't break the law or you may die. every time our lawmakers make a law we lose freedom. The good news is that all the money I'm making here I will bring back to "the Shoals" and spend it!!!(sure are alot of short blackhaired foks here)
World cant wait bandana

Over the past 7 years the Bush Presidency has given itself the right to invade countries that pose no threat to us, to carry out indefinite detentions and abrogate habeas corpus, to torture people, to spy on tens of millions of Americans without warrant, and when caught, brazenly declare that they will continue to do so, to use hundreds of signing statements , to declare themselves above the law and above scrutiny, to trample civil rights, to deny the dire threat of global warming, to suppress science.

But what is even worse, the "watchdog" media and the "loyal opposition" have allowed Bush and Cheney to get away with it! This must not be allowed to stand. We cannot allow ourselves to go down in history as looking the other way while tyranny, torture and war crimes were being committed in our names and in front of the whole world.

It is up to the people to stop this.Watch Video

I voted for Reagan, and then Clinton.. so that was my last win, lol..

Anyway, the first comment you copied, was back when the Democrats took over and I "mistakingly" thought things might get better..

I have NOW learned that I do not like the Republicans, and I do not like the Democrats..

So I am not for either at this point, someone is going to have to pull a rabbit out of their hat...

I just wish we could go out, pick a bunch of DIRT FARMERS, put them in the positions and start from actual ground zero, it couldnt be any worse that what is running our Country right now!!!

Just my opinion... NOW, lol
