I knew when I POSTED THIS ARTICLE that a few in here would not accept it because it was a NY Times editorial. That's the way Right Wingers "cop out" and stay in denial. They use this "sweeping denunciation" of the paper, basically slander, to avoid having to face issues they can't answer.
The Times lies all right but lies for the government and corporations. It's considered liberal because it's not the straight-out propaganda PR firm that Fox and the Wall Street Journal and other right wing media outlets are. I just read an article, which I will post later, where it is mentioned how Wolfowitz got the Wall Street Journal to write an editorial against the investigation of the Plame leak.
I was looking for the story of the report in the Times itself or on line but because of work and being short on time I never found the actual news article. I have another opinion piece talking about it from Truthout.
This is big stuff and as I have mentioned before was being exposed in the alternative media as it was happening. The DOD report is just confirming what was exposed in the alternative press for soem time. That Cheney set up a special team to cherry pick info and "stove Pipe" it past regular CIA channels, right to Cheney, so they could get the results Cheney wanted.
The "Facts were fixed around the Policy." They had written about the need to invade in the 90's and planned to invade Iraq from day one.
The DOD report is real and accurate and the facts are there. If any of you has a dispute about a fact then bring it up. If you do bother to "read the actual report" you will find the Times is accurate in it's account and analysis's.
