Referring to the article in Fridays paper about the Pittsburg State player saying as he was getting to the bus, the bus driver said roll tide.  The teams are here in Florence playing for the Div. II championship.  The driver should be promoteing Florence and the local area instead of Tuscaloosa and the roll tide Alabama team.  Maybe he should apply for a bus driving position in Tuscaloosa.

Why would that bus driver think some kid from Pitt would care about Alabama football? Or Auburn football? Or Tennessee footabll etc.....?..... Just drive the d**n bus!

I dunno, maybe he was trying to be personable.  He might have been trying to connect with a young kid who is from out of town and visiting the area.  Two things he and the bus driver might have in common is football.  It is not unreasonable for someone to try and have a conversation with someone they do not know.  I know that it is imponderable for some of the uppities in this region to actually believe that you can talk to someone you do not know, but it can actually be enjoyable.  If there are so many people in this area who are jealous of a another football team and do not wish for anyone connected to public transportation to refrain from broaching the subject with an "outsider", then perhaps we need better screening of public servants.

Like I said, if that is the only thing you have to worry about, or can find to @#$%^ about, then you must have a pretty good life.  Why not go down to one of the local charities and donate some of that extra time you have and actually try to make a difference.....geeesh

Here's hoping you have Roll Tide, War Egle, Go Vols, Geux Tigers, Hotty Toddy and Cowbell Christmas!

Well teyates, you may think it is a small worry and it is, but that is why we have this forum is to talk about anything and you must think it is worthty of talking about because you made a comment.  I am an Alabama fan, I just don't think this was the time and place to be promoteing an out of town football team and town that has nothing to do with the local game.  If he wanted to be personable he should have studied up on the teams coming and talk about something that they could relate, that is what I would have done if assigned to drive the bus.  Its like saying i am an alabama fan and i don't care about this game.  I am a alabama fan, but i do realize that to some people it means nothing out of state.  He could have talked about the weather or local events, anything other than bringing up a subject that has nothing to with the local game.  Sorta like alabama getting on a bus in new orleans and the driver say go saints or whatever their saying is.  The driver should be glad the teams are provideing work for him.
