Netracer41, I see you are new and I should have not made such a statement as I did without explaining why this is in fact the stupidest thing I read yesterday.

If Al Gore had been become president instead of Bush, the following would have occurred.
When President Gore received the PDB stating "Ben Laden determined to attact within the U.S" he would have actually read it. Then he would have sighed. (you know he would have sighed), and then using his vast knowledge of Al Queda, he would have taken steps to stop the attacts on the WTC, like attacts on LAX were stopped in 1/1/2000.
That right there would have saved over 3000 americans who would not have been killed during the attacts.
Gore would not have attacted Iraq for it's oil, saving an additional (so far) 3400 American lives not to mention 24000 wounded.
President Gore would have dispatched special fources to kill or capture Ben Laden ,and would have done so.

Now, you are probably wondering why I can make the above statement as to what would have happened had the worm turned the other way. Well, FACT is, I don't know. My POINT is that you don't know either. The above scenario while completely made up, is a lot more believeable than the completely made up scenario you gave. Gore sending a letter to Ben Laden???? To make such a statement is just sheer nuts.

Rush and talk radio has mis-used the term "liberal" so they could condem any bad thing as "liberal", and they have done a pretty good job of running that term down.

Man, has he EVER!!! And he isn't the ONLY one either... O'Reilly is guilty of that too.

We used to use the term "progressive" to describe those who want to make changes for the better, and I suspect that you are a Progressive, and not a conservative.
I may be wrong, but that's my take.

Thank God I can SEE that if we do not make changes and NOW, that our entire Country is going to pay so dearly it will be unreal!!!...

I agree. I am so old that I had to wait until I was 21 to vote, and I have voted for president for Indipendents, Democrats, and 1 Republican .
Seems the labeling became a serious thing after the Newt and the Republicans took over congress during the Clinton adm. I remember Jeff Sessons campaign adds- he never once , that I heard, stated his platform. His only add was that Roger Bedford was a liberal, and voted with liberal Ted Kennedy, and liberal Bill Clinton.
Think about that for a minute! Bedford was a STATE senator. Did Ted and Bill come down to Montgomery and vote with Bedford, or was there some special thing in the US Congress that allowed Bedford to go to DC and vote with them?
The really sad thing is the ignorance that allowed that kind of political advertisement to be successful. He's just a liar! and the truth is not in him.
I posted those definitions to say that I believe there are legons of people who want to call themselves "conservative" or vote for people who claim they have "conservative values" that don't know what that means. Ben Laden is a conservative, so are the mullas of Iran.
Yep, there are a lot of conservatives in this area. The influence of fundamentalism that has invaded our churches has caused this. They want to take us back to the 50's. They oppose the teaching of science in schools. Saw Alaxandera Pelosi's film "Friends of God". These churches were teaching their kids that men and dinasours co-existed! They believe "Flintstones" is a documentary. THat is the start of the outcome of conservative fundamentalism.
