As I posted elsewhere in this forum, the number of business failures exploded after 2009.  If, government support were essential to business success, then, France, Spain. Italy and Greece would be powerhouses, instead of broke with their young people fleeing.

Barack inherited a mess, and a do nothing congress. I hate politics.

Barry Obama inherited control of the House and Senate and he barely got Obamacare passed by bribing his own party members.  Not one Republican voted for that train wreck.  He since lost the House.  Remember who screwed up your healthcare this November.

The reverse could be said also that the MORONS on the left will not work with the republicans and do a give and take to get a bill passed.  Remember we have two sides and BOTH need to give to get a budget passed.

People, sometimes things happen without politics being the driving force. Corporations don't give a damm about politics or politicians as long as they aren't getting in the way of profitability, it's all about market forces.  As for the paper mill, the closure is because of market changes:

Also remember that it costs money to close a production facility so a company doesn't really like to close facilities.

As to Hillshire Farms, I suspect that the age of the facility and the cost of upgrading it are the reasons for closure:

Steve holt, president of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce said both Hillshire Brands and HON Company were in the midst of restructuring when the announcements came down.

“They`re both dealing with larger companies with multiple plants at excess capacity,” explained Holt, “and we ended up paying the price on this end of it in our community.”

Gary Carlson, a spokesman for HON, said their corporate team spent a long time studying their structure, and made the hard decision to close the Florence plant.

Carlson went on to say the plant`s closure had nothing to do with the exceptional employees who report to work there each day.

He said the decision came down to cost of operations and the ability to move production to an existing facility.

“At least you know that it wasn’t because of the work-force that they are leaving. It`s another business decision and that`s a reality of life, that`s the hard pill to swallow,” stated Holt.

Everything BUT the 'blood moon' has been blamed on Bush.  It's time for the loony left to MOVE ON.......preferably to another planet.

In IP's case, one sees creative destruction -- a necessity of our system. Old outdated products, no longer required by consumers cause a plant to shut down.  With the advent of autos, buggy factories either retooled or closed.  Horse breeders, blacksmiths and farriers saw their livelihood either decrease or disappear. 

If you would stop advocating for the US to implement their style of economics then we will stop mentioning it.
