Bush's approval sags to record low in new poll
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush's approval rating stands at 30 percent in the latest Newsweek poll, the lowest approval rating recorded for the president in that poll's history.

In the first poll conducted for Newsweek since the State of the Union last Tuesday, 58 percent of respondents said "they wish the Bush presidency was simply over." Nearly 86 percent of Democrats shared that sentiment, compared to 59 percent of Independents, and 21 percent of Republicans. The poll also indicates Bush's sagging approval rating may seriously impact the race for his replacement.

Nearly half -- 49 percent -- of all registered voters would rather see a Democrat elected president in 2008 while just 28 percent want a Republican.

The poll, conducted between January 24 and 25, has a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.

Instead of spending your time bashing the current president, why not do something productive and get behind a candidate of your own.

Instead of constant "BUSH SUCKS" over and over again, how bout sharing who you think will do a better job in '08.

I think everyone can agree the war has been a disaster, so lets hear some support any idea YOUR candidate might have instead constant griping.

PBA, you HATE the president. I think its safe to say everyone on this board knows that, and many are just sick of hearing it.

That is exactly what most of us plan to do, but that is nearly 2 years from now, .... so for now, guess Bush-Bashing is the IN thing,... He is the worst president "I" have ever lived under, that is for sure.

I'll admit to voting for Bush...2X. The 2nd time was simply because I REFUSED to back ANYthing Kerry stood/stands for. Call it choosing between 'the lessor of 2 evils', if you will.

ROFLLLLLLLLLL dogsoldier!!!! That is the VERY reason I voted for Kerry, because I thought HIM to be the lesser of 2 evils... turns out, I may have been right Big Grin hehe

Hindsite is 20/20. Give me a VIABLE Libertarian candidate and I'll vote for him.

An organization has been formed with the specific intent of selecting a non partisan Presidential Slate to run in the 2008 election. Their selection process is open to ANY qualified candidate. I was not interested in being part of an INDEPENDENT candidacy campaign so I did not sign up. Not as a candidate, but as a participant in the selection process. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, THEY DO HAVE A WEBSITE. But you will have to find it without my assistance, since I don't have it, and I am not looking it up.
