You are officially going on "ignore".
I contemplated sending this via private message, but since our discussions and disagreements have all been public, and I do not care to have "private" discussion with you, I have decided to put it out here.

I question your motives. Really. Would it please you for me to say "You know, Bill Gray is right. To heck with my church, to heck with meditation, prayers and good works". I am already saved, I'm not gonna bother with any of that. I will just declare myself saved, and be self righteous and indignant to anyone who challenges me.
This is a rhetorical question, I might add. You are he** bent on dismantling my Faith, and I want no further part of it.
You have been caught in lie, after lie, and evade direct questions.
I am not attempting to publicly embarass you- I don't even believe that is possible, in your smugness.
But I do want you, and those who have followed our discussions to know, that I am ignoring you because YOU and YOUR WORDS conjure up feelings in myself, and anger that is not conducive to the Christ centered life I choose to live.
You attempt to discredit the Catholic Church, and thereby discredit my faith. I think it's shameful.
I take ownership for my anger, with the understanding that I have been playing defense for the most part.
At any rate, I do not care to dialogue with you further- you are the ONLY person on this forum who has gone to such lengths to try to prove my beliefs wrong.
That, Sir, is questionable.
So, for whatever reason, I am making the decision that I will not put my beliefs and faith "out there" for you to attempt to discredit and ridicule. Discussion with you does not allow me to be the person that I am called to be. Do you, and an internet forum have that kind of impact? No. It is purely for my own purpose that I am "quitting" you. Dialogue with you has proved to be a waste of time. Your desecration of my faith no longer will have the benefit of response or apologetics.

Hi VP,

Yes, at times the truth does hurt. But, when one is on the Religion Forum teaching doctrines which are not Biblical -- all Christian believers have an obligation to refute those false doctrines.

I have no dislike for you personally. But, I do have a problem with doctrines which are not Biblical.

You are most likely right that you are better served to put me on Ignore. And, it will work out better for all our Forum Friends.

You see, VP, I do not refute your doctrines to argue with you -- but, to make sure that people reading us have the truth. That purpose will probably be better accomplished without the two of us going toe to toe.

Not a problem. In spite of our differences, I would like for us to be Friends. You are a Christian believer -- I am a Christian believer -- so, that means we will spend eternity together. We might as well start practicing down here. I welcome your Christian friendship.

I asked BG this once before but he didn't answer just like he didn't answer my question about a Baptist tenet I copied and pasted in another thread.

What about Demas? Wasn't he saved? He left the church, its in the Bible. How do you explain that.

And VP has a great point. If we're saved, why bother. I try to be good, but I guess I could start cussing some ppl out whenever if it doesn't matter.

i've pretty much been ignoreing bill for quite a while now. not on 'ignore' just scrolling past most everything he writes.

it's not possible to have a discussion with the man. either you agree with him 100%, or you are 100% wrong and going to hell.

he's the kind of person who would hold open the bible, jabbing it with his finger and say
"Look, Jesus, look right here! that's what the bible says, so you are wrong! this verse says once saved always saved and you don't have to be baptised. you're just wrong. i'm through talking to a new age / liberal theist like you. why don't you and deep and fishfat and dawkins go have a tea party while i go talk to your father, so we can get some stuff straightend out."

just rememeber folks. he's way older than us. we'll still be around long after he's found out just how wrong he really was.

The truth hurts? Where did that come from?

You mention you want to make sure that people reading both of you have the truth, & it will probably be better accomplished without the two of you going toe to toe.

Do you honestly think that people will believe you anymore now than before? Do you really think that your rantings, your rudeness, your judgment of others, your need to be right & everyone else wrong, your refusal to answer questions, your stupid cartoons, etc. is really going to make people want to listen to you, or even believe anything you say????

BG is the worst kind of religious extremist. His views are very narrow and only based on his narrow interpretation of his truth. He is not here to enlighten or "save" anyone he is only here to stroke his own fragile ego. I have personally witnessed a decline in his cognitive mental state over the last couple of years. It seems his brand of the truth is not selling so he is becoming more and more desperate and aggressive in his assertions. We all have different views on religion and what path each of us should take toward our own enlightenment. BG feels very threatened by this. He realizes that he could be wrong, and so is becoming more defensive. He used to try a little to persuade people. Now he just uses his religion as a weapon to hurt and to belittle people. While this may be an acceptable tactic for fundamentalists Christianity, I don't think its prophet, Jesus, would approve of this conduct. BG can spew his intolerance and hatred all he wants The ignore feature can be a liberating feature if you don't want to be exposed to that kind of negativity.

I don't think so.

Veep has done what any self-respecting person must. She has considered the source of her attacker, his integrity, his motives, and his character. She has made a good decision.

We should all boycott every comment, every insult, every knife between the ribs accompanied by a dancing Snoopy that Gray utters. Perhaps he'll find a new sandbox in which to play.

When I saw this thread, I was hoping that he had been banned for good or finally just gave up posting in a forum where he is universally disliked.

I loved it when he mentioned that he had been divorced and someone said something about it. (Apparently the bible says you can only divorce if your spouse dies or some such nonsense). Anyway, holier than thou Bill G. then went back and edited his original post!

I meant that each of these posts were just as mean spirited as any that Bill Gray has posted. vp you felt that it was necessary to share with everyone that you were "going on ignore" with Bill. It sounded as if you were using this platform to once again bash BG publicly and it was an invitation to others to do likewise which they accomodated you richly. More name calling and vicious remarks. Remarks about his cartoon characters being offensive but no one should be offended by your little fellow pushing up his sleeves to ready for a fight? How are we suppose to intrepret that? Then several say he "deserves it" because "he started it first." Childish!

We all have our own beliefs. When beliefs are stated that are contrary to my belief I don't see that as those postings are trying to discredit my belief, merely statements as to why they do not have that belief. I agree that BG possibly could express his beliefs in a less offensive manner at times but that could be said of any of us. If one is looking to be offended that can easily be found most anywhere. I have disagreed at times with BG as well as yourself and the majority of those posting on the TD forums but I choose to not take offense and move on.

I do commend you for realizing that dialogues with Bill get you in the flesh and choosing to avoid them. We are told in the Bible to flee from the temptation of sin. We would all be better off if we realized sooner the areas that cause us to get into sin therefore better equipped to avoid it.

I will continue to look forward to your posts as I have had very little understanding of the Catholic faith and have had many questions about your beliefs. Although I have a different belief and disagree with some of your beliefs I am glad to know what you base your beliefs on. Some of your posts have caused me to have more questions but I have grown in knowledge and hope to continue.

Ditto rramlimnn. I like Bill too. It just makes some people squirm to hear the truth, they cant stand the thought that they cant sin and still get to Heaven. It's not going to be easy to get there. You cant act how you please and think you will have a free ticket there just because you think God is going to forgive you in the end. You have to live the life.
I think the Religion forum would be so much better if all the atheist and non believers would stay out of it. Instead they come here and want to fuss about it.
billy joe bob gene, why dont you get your followers to go in the Entertainment section and post your junk. That's where it belongs, like a bad joke.

Unless one person can prove where Bill has said anything that isn't Biblical, you'd be best served to stop making yourselves look like the very things of which you're accusing Bill. I've seen more hate directed towards Bill than from him. Bill is solid in knowledge of Scripture and has attempted to share sound Biblical Truth with the TD forum. There are many forum members who obviously are under conviction for their beliefs, or lack thereof, and turn that conviction into spewing hate at Bill. Like I said, show me where Bill is wrong or shut up.

Hi VP, rest and relax dear.

Bill has gotten worse over the past few years. I can remember when threads would go on for many pages without the hateful remarks coming out.

To the supporters of Bill, Bill twists the scriptures to mean what he wants them too, he borrows from the followers of fundamentalism to deny science, logic, and common sense. He judges and condemns people he disagrees with. He makes up lies about other faiths to suit his version.

Gdriggs (?) also posted scriptures, yet he was considered New Age by Bill. He quit posting after all the hate.

So, if all you see is a sweet little man trying to save souls, re-read his posts.

Bill makes the devil look good, and that's not an easy thing to do.

I shall follow some sage advice:

Avoid loud and aggressive persons for they are vexatious to the spirit.

Peace to the Atheists, Agnostics, Christians, Muslims, Wicca, Buddhist, Hindu, etc......
