Or, is this just something that a friend told to your cousin's friend, who lives next door to Suzie, who swears to it?

Heh. Wow, BeeG. That first paragraph sure sounds an awful lot like a description of that "good book" you beat us over the head with regularly...And the second one pretty much sums up your belief in it...

You don't have a personal relationship with Jesus. You've never met him.
You weren't there when the stuff in that book supposedly happened and you've never met anybody who was there anymore than I have, yet you condemn all us atheists because we don't believe in it. You can't "personally" attest to any of that, either.

Therefore, you are just another whacko wandering down the street wearing a sandwich board shouting doom. You have zero credibility.

Stick THAT in yer collection plate. Wink
Well-you nailed that one.

Explain how your statement is not correct? Well for ONE thing I'd think an atheist run school system wouldn't have your god in it, the teachers wouldn't be self proclaimed christians, they wouldn't pray before assemblies and sports events, which they still do so don't deny that. So now YOU tell me how the school system is teaching atheism.

Hi Jennifer,

I am not sure which state you live in -- possibly the "state of confusion" -- but, I know of NO STATE in America which still allows teachers or students to lead prayers on school property or at school sponsored events.

My Friend, a "moment of silence" is not a prayer -- even if it is in the mind of the current Oval Office occupant. He wouldn't know a prayer if it bit him in the butt!

Yes, teachers can still be Christian believers -- but, only as long as they keep it to themselves.

On the other hand, a teacher can be an atheist, teach that, or Islam, or Buddhism -- in the classroom and it is only education. Let a teacher mention God, Jesus Christ, the Bible in the classroom -- and they are fired.

That, my dear Friend, is the perfect example of a Darwinian atheist school system -- the perfect picture of the American Public Education System today.

Temporarily your team is in the Cat Bird Seat of education. But, our TEAM has already won the war. From now on, it is just a matter of clean up skirmishes.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

What are you talking about? When have you ever heard of a teacher teaching atheism? Buddhism? Islam? You are off your rocker.

When my daughter graduated from Muscle Shoals in
2005 the program called for a 'moment of reflection' but they had a student come up to the podium, take his hat off and say 'let us pray' which he proceeded to do and ended it with 'in Jesus' name we pray, amen.' I've got the whole thing on video.

Granted this was 5 years ago, so I don't know if they still do it or not, I've gotta sorta believe they do.

Uh bill, I live in Alabama and they PRAY before sporting events. No one has called them on it yet. AND bill the bible can be taught right along with the other books. Your problem is you only want YOUR religion taught, your bible read. Read the law. No bill, teachers don't keep it to themselves, that's the problem. Where do you live? You seem to be way out of touch. Now can I get an honest answer out of you? If you woke up tomorrow and the law was that the bible and the bible only had to be taught in schools, would you be happy or outraged?

JENNIFER, PLEASE GIVE US AN EXAMPLE OF THE PRAYERS ALLOWED IN ALABAMA SCHOOLS. IS JESUS, GOD, OR THE BIBLE MENTIONED AT ALL?

Yes bill, and usually they have a "guest pastor". Now answer my question. Since you seem to think Camp Quest is an indoctrination center, would you be happy if suddenly the law of the land was bible teachings and bible camps only? And while you're at it, how is CQ an indoctrination center? I'm curious because the children are apparently already atheists.

Hi Jennifer,

Somehow, when I asked you to "PLEASE GIVE US AN EXAMPLE OF THE PRAYERS ALLOWED IN ALABAMA SCHOOLS" -- I was looking for more than just, "Yes, Bill."

You say prayers are allowed in the Alabama schools. Once again, I ask you, "Please give us an example of the prayers allowed."

And, I remind you that a "moment of silence" is not a prayer -- except in ObamaWorld. In the real world, a Christian prayer calls upon God by name, most often Jesus Christ by name, and references Biblical Scripture.

Do you have an example of such a prayer allowed in Alabama schools? Remember, I said a Christian prayer; not a prayer to Allah or Buddha or to a Hindu cow or pig - a prayer to the Christian God. Example please!

If you fall back again upon the "guest pastor" excuse -- please give us a pastor's name and when he was praying in the school system. A telephone number would be useful also -- just so we can verify your statement.

While I love having you respond, "Yes, Bill" -- that is not sufficient at this time. You might try, "Yes, sir, Bill" or "Yes, Mr. Bill" or any other method of homage which satisfies you. But, let's get back to the prayer example.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Well gee bill, I didn't know I would have to write a report on the prayers or I would have paid attention! They lead the assembly in prayer bill, can't make it any clearer than that. As for their names, how would I know? What business is it of yours anyway? You make a big deal out of being from Alabama, talk about how you visit here, but you're going to act like you didn't know they still pray at school functions here? As for the prayer, you don't know how preachers pray? Cut the innocent act bill. OR if you're really interested see if you can find articles about functions and see if they mention who led the prayer. You have one poster that told you her daughter graduated from MS High and they prayed. She said that was in 05, but I certainly haven't heard of anything changing. And knowing you bill, you would "pitch a *****" if they didn't pray. Now how about YOU giving examples of how the school systems are run by atheists with government money, and answering questions ask about statements you've made.
Last year I attended my nephews pee wee football game at a county school. They started with a prayer. A christian prayer. Don't know who led it. Like Jennifer, I didn't pay attention. I usually just stand there and try to be polite, but my mind is wandering else where while they have their silly ritual.

As far as I know nothing has changed either. I don't think the teachers are leading prayer in classes though. I have not heard of that in a while. They did when I was in school which was not as long ago as Bill says the "atheist took over" Roll Eyes

At one of the games I attended when my children were still in school a lady shushed my youngest because he asked me to go to the restroom while a prayer was being led. As I said I usually sit quietly while others are praying, but that day I decided that they would not impose on me and mine, nor force their religion onto my child. So I stood up and loudly made my way down the bleachers during the prayer. Show respect and you get respect from me, get pushy and demanding and I will push back.

And bill runs. What was I supposed to remember bill? The man's name? Why would I remember a pastors name that I saw once and didn't pay attention to anyway? hmmmmmmmmm What did I make up to argue about bill? You have plenty of posters saying the same thing I did. BTW, talking about 2 stepping, any chance YOU might stop evading questions? I notice you try to go on the attack when you're caught in one of your mis-speaks, then you hope it will die down.
