Oh, dear GAWD, not that garbage again.

There is no such thing as a "secret Muslim." It's a nonsense phrase like 'skinny fat man.' Islam requires a public confession of faith. Besides, we heard all about Pastor Jeremiah Wright for months on end -- which is it, Crazy Christian or Secret Muslim? Logically, Obama can't be both.

Unless, of course, there's actually an army of Obama clones running around...
Now as to the thread: if you want to charge a president with a crime, go arrest Bush. It was the utter incompetence of that administration that left the prosecution of this suspect -- and so many other suspects -- such a mess.

For seven years, we heard all about how dangerous these men were. Then it turned out we'd already let some of the most dangerous ones go, and most of the ones we were still holding weren't dangerous at all.

These men were so dangerous (we were told) that we needed to immediately shred the Constitution, destroy our international humanitarian record, and start torturing them immediately. In fact, these very incredibly dangerous men were so incredibly dangerous that we couldn't even put the evidence against them into one file, or it might turn into a weapon of mass destruction or something.

Indeed, we're releasing them because of the very bad, incompetent, horrible mess the Bush team has left us: LINK
Have the Birchers forgotten to have their Lexapro scripts renewed again?

Why, yes, a president can be tried for treason, it is in the Constitution under what constitutes an impeachable offense and treason itself is defined in the same document as well. I thought most people working on their GED knew that.

Aah! Indefinite detention under conditions somewhat more comfortable than the Bastille or Tower of London, mere sleep deprivation and water boarding vice pein fort et dure and the rack: that's what America's all about boys! Let tribal headmen with a grievance against another dude just say to the ol' Grunts, "He's one of 'em." Off to Gitmo ya go. $10K in euros in tribe head's pockets. Yea! Guess that's why we fought the Germans on Iwo Jima.
William the American people are too stupid to empty the trash because we are becoming trash and behave just like our congress. Not sure there will ever be hope until people like Sarah Palin have some control. When she took office in AK she immediately started cutting expenses. Obama immediately started spending money, which he is having to borrow, so, whom do you want in control? A mom, union worker, raising her kids, happily married, or another lawyer who has never worked a day in his life!

DOOF QUOTE OF THE DAY!

In Republican World, every day is Opposites Day. You want an army of Sarah Palin clones chanting "position flexible also" to take over the government?

Adding: WTF?!

I don't think Sarah Palin has an ounce of common sense. And I think the Democrats in Congress are about to grow some cojones and pass this bill, rendering the GOP irrelevant for a decade or more.
President Obama has not committed an offense of treason. But if you are worried al-Nashiri will be turned loose then you aren't reading the whole story before you put out your spin. From the Associated Press:

quote:
On Thursday, two Obama administration officials told The Associated Press that the charges against al-Nashiri will be dismissed without prejudice. That means new charges can be brought again later. He will remain in prison for the time being.

It seems our friends keep throwing up stories about President Obama and we keep seeing their stories shot down. Oh well. When is Bush's trial?
Neal,

Birchers are a spent force resurrected by the left to scare themselves.

Those prisoners at Gitmo sold to the US are long gone. The remainer are either hard core or the sixty we would prefer to send back to their countries, but would not be accepted or killed (Uighers).

Conditions are humane as several visitors have testified. Bastille and Tower had a six bottle per day wine ration, not really acceptable to muslims.

Longest water boarding was three minutes several years ago, less than Bush under went during his pilot training.

Silly liberal.
It's amazing how the liberals bash a successful mother, union worker, hunter, gun advocate, successful politician, and governor of one of our great states. Instead the Liberals would rather have the ACLU telling us what to do, a lawyer who has never worked running the country, a man who sat in church for twenty years hearing hate sermons on how demonic America is, and someone who does not have in his vocabulary the words "stop spending and stop digging us into a deeper hole". Yes, the liberal’s policies of socialism have worked. USPS is losing money, SS is broke, welfare pays people to sit at home and have more babies, SSI pays people not to work when most can, ACORN pays people to falsify voting records, yes the liberals are doing quite a good job. I stand up and applaud you. Keep up the good work!

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

quote:
"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.

These two quotes are from the Associated Press. Now, if you would like a link: Palin: Iraq war is a task from God

I could show more, but this is enough for now. We'll just blame the press for making this up.

Your comment seem to say that all Muslims must be evil. Again, are all Christians evil also because of the actions of a few?
Some of you need to realize that pointing the finger and name calling gets nothing accomplished. Dems and Repubs have both contributed to the SS situation. Both have allowed people to ride welfare for years.

I don't know what the Post Office has to do with anything. I'm still looking for how that ties in with the Dems when the USPS is a independent agency.

I have close friends that were taught by their parents that blacks were not equal to whites. They don't agree with this, but their parents have tried to enforce this their entire life. So being taught one thing does not mean one has to believe the garbage given.

Al Son,

The first is a simple statement to ministry students -- persons of faith. Would you expect her to invoke the shade of Darwin?

The second is similar to that I've heard chaplains make to the troops. Certainly. not much different than Washington's prayer for the troops or Patton's request for a prayer for good weather from a chaplain to end the war.

The Republic survived those requests and more. If such truly scares you, I would suggest a spine stiffener.
