Last week i took my car to People's Tire in Tuscumbia and, among other things, i had the front and rear brakes replaced.
Today i received a postcard service reminder from them saying "During a previous visit we noticed that your brakes were approaching time for replacement. Badly worn brakes can be dangerous. Please call today for an appointment for a FREE brake inspection."
I know the card is just a ploy to get people to come in, but it really ticks me off that someone may get one of these cards and be scared into having unnecessary work done.
Please,if you know of anyone that has received one of these cards after a visit to this place, advise them to take their car elsewhere to have the brakes checked.
If this place didn't already have my tag# in their computer i would take my car in just to see what they say.
This is probably a common tactic with many places, but it is very underhanded and since i just paid for new brakes getting this "service reminder" has really hit a nerve with me.
