CBS Poll: Obama Leads McCain

(CBS) Presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama holds a six point lead over his Republican counterpart John McCain, a new CBS News poll finds. Obama leads McCain 48 percent to 42 percent among registered voters, with 6 percent of respondents undecided.

The poll contains troubling signs for Obama as he looks to mobilize the Democratic Party behind him following his long and sometimes bitter battle with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, however.

Hello JJ,

Here is an electoral vote poll that seems to be more accurate since it’s the electoral polling that counts. As of today McCain is ahead of Obama 257 to 247 with 34 electoral votes at a tie (9-17-08). You can check each state by scrolling over it. This changes everyday though but I hope McCain keeps the lead.

LOL someone looked hard to find a poll they liked, because just about all EC College estimates have Obama leading
Obama is leading by 2 pt average of all major poll. And it still doesn't matter because it only takes into consideration "likely" voters who have voted in the past 2 elections. Doesn't include newley registered voters or voters who didn't vote last either of the last to elections. Obama has been on a voter registration crusade for almost 2 years.

They also wouldn't reflect McCains statement that the "fundamentals of are economy are strong".
