And now the mosque near Ground Zero. The intelligentsia is near unanimous that the only possible grounds for opposition is bigotry toward Muslims. This smug attribution of bigotry to two-thirds of the population hinges on the insistence on a complete lack of connection between Islam and radical Islam, a proposition that dovetails perfectly with the Obama administration's pretense that we are at war with nothing more than "violent extremists" of inscrutable motive and indiscernible belief. Those who reject this as both ridiculous and politically correct (an admitted redundancy) are declared Islamophobes, the ad hominem du jour.

Is he joking, or has he completely lost it? We are only at war with the violent extremists within Islam, not with Islam itself, and Obama understands this just like George Bush understood it. If you think that our enemy is Islam itself and you want to deny rights to Muslim-Americans because of the actions of a tiny, radical minority of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims, then yes, the word that describes you is Islamophobe.
Seems on point to me. Let's see how his prediction does.

The Democrats are going to get beaten badly in November. Not just because the economy is ailing. And not just because Obama over-read his mandate in governing too far left. But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.
If ANY attack upon innocent people could possibly be attributed to any far fringe "Christian" Group such as the Westboro Baptist Church then rest assured that the left and liberals would be seeking to hang every Christian, especially conservative Christian from a Cross of their own. There would be calls to close Churches overnight and to yank the tax exempt status. One only has to look at some of the idle remarks from, then, candidate Obama in a private meeting about "gun toting Christians" in a derogatory manner to see just where the left's motivation is at.

Hitler is dead. Although Obama sure tries to act like he has the people's blessings just like Adolph.

Dr Paul Craig Roberts is an economist and co founder of Reaganomics.

His quote.

Although his criticisms of Bush often seem to align him with the political left, Roberts continues to praise Ronald Reagan and to endorse many of Reagan's policies, arguing that "true conservatives" were the "first victims" of the neoconized Bush administration.[9] He has said that supporters of George W. Bush "are brownshirts with the same low intelligence and morals as Hitler's enthusiastic supporters."[10]

That statement is a better description of the brown shirt neocons of whom Rushbo is the biggest band leader.

NO! The SD brown shirts were a left wing militia, many of whom were gay. After the Night of the Long Knives, their leadership was eliminated by the SS. Many of the ex-members transferred to the Gestapo.

so, let's straighten this out... you're saying that folks who largely agree with Rush Limbaugh are elitists and akin to the Sturmabteilung, and further that 'those who agree with Rush' don't consider the opinions of the opposition to be worthy of examination? How funny, that is exactly the way leftists and all their kith and kin are perceived by anyone that takes time to think objectively. BTW, isn't 'neocon' like a 'code word' for Jew? Sure seems to me like the left is the group rife with contempt soaked arrogant elitists. If I were you, and maybe not a seriously commited to the power of the state, I would beware a new "Röhm-Putsch". Wink

P.S. Just returning the favor.
I agree with every word Krauthammer said-

"What's a liberal to do? Pull out the bigotry charge, the trump that preempts debate and gives no credit to the seriousness and substance of the contrary argument. The most venerable of these trumps is, of course, the race card. When the Tea Party arose, a spontaneous, leaderless and perfectly natural (and traditionally American) reaction to the vast expansion of government intrinsic to the president's proudly proclaimed transformational agenda, the liberal commentariat cast it as a mob of angry white yahoos disguising their antipathy to a black president by cleverly speaking in economic terms."

Not climbing under my rock, just standing proudly on top of it. The Democrats took a beating in November so Charles' prediction was correct.

Ever heard the slogan: 'You can have my gun when you pry my cold dead hands off of it'?

Did you put the sign in your yard that says "NO GUNS HERE"?

Agreed. Don't know why better brought this up sense Charles was right.

I don't think anyone said anything about insurrection. But a federal attempt at seizure of arms is tyranny, and our founding fathers were pretty clear on that issue.

You're moving up the charts as the most historically ignorant poster on the forum.
