Sean Penn = idiot
Charlie Daniels = intelligent

Charlie Daniels is dead on accurate with his statement. The people opposed to his statement want illegals to get amnesty and for this country to cater to their unwillingness to blend into our society. The ironic part is, this is what Bush wants as well. So the very people who hate him so much, agree with him on illegal immigration.

The fact remains - they are performers with opinions. I have heard both of them spout off some pretty lame stuff.

An accumulated opinion of Bush, which agrees with mine by the way, resulted in the loss of the House and Senate for the Republicans. This accumulated opinion, for what its worth, has effected the direction of this nation. I suggest you, on this occassion, take notice that when public opinion goes against a polititian he can be weakened. Mr. Bush is weakened - not that he was not from the very beginning.

You are absolutely correct. I don't agree with GWB when it comes to illegal immigration. He wants amnesty. I don't. I believe a very large % of people in the US don't want amnesty either.

Mr bushs lack of popular support includes much more than his inept ideas on immigration. If that were his only problem - he would still be the leader of the majority party.

What explains the fact that Congress has an even worse poll rating than GWB? I thought now that the Dem's were in it would go throught the roof. Could it be that there terrible stance on immigration and the fact that they can't get any REAL work done be the problem?

Actually they have, so far, been able to join with 2 Repubicans in the senate and send a messgae to the acting president about the war. That was a bold move - one the American people support by 60%. We will see.

That is quite easily the most transparent and ludicrous thing I have ever read. I can handle most of the opposing voices on this forum, NashBama, but the more I read you, the more radical you seem. You're right of the right-wingers, and that is quite possibly the most dangerous place to be. You discount yourself by offering a .com website to prove your paper-thin constructions of history concerning the founding fathers, and now you're calling CD intelligent because he spouts out a stream of racist remarks. If people like you had their way in government, the entire US would be forced into church buildings, prayer would be mandatory, and "infidels" would be imprisoned. I'm sure you'll vehemently deny all of that with a few snide remarks, but you've got to see that if your ideas are taken to their logical end then that will be the picture of America. Instead of "for the people, by the people" it will be "for the white, Christian, Repblican people, by the white, Christian, Republican people." That's sad and wrong.
Illegal immigration has nothing to do with racism. What Charlie Daniels said was not racist at all. He simply wants our laws enforced to protect our country and so do I. I am not "right of the right-wingers", if you have been around for a while you would know that. You're simply doing what people do when they have no viable argument to defend their position, name calling.

Sticks & stones....

I've heard your reasons as to why you consider yourself a moderate, but they don't hold up. You're not moderate. You're very conservative with a few rogue beliefs that seem to only show up when you are defending your "moderate" moniker. I didn't call you a single name. It seems to me that the method to which those who have no recourse resort is putting words in the opposition's mouth.
I believe that people should be able to express their ideas freely, even if they are religious in nature.

I believe that our immigration laws need to be reformed so that hard working, law abiding people who want to become Americans can do so. I also believe that our borders be secure to protect legal immigrants, natural born citizens, and the society we live in from criminals, diseases, and those who simply want to destroy what we have.

I believe that we are all equals regardless of race, sex, or religion. I've already been round and round with others on this board who do not feel that way. So your statement about the type of country I want is completely inaccurate and uninformed.

Those ideas make me a radical right wing conservative? I don't think so. Unlike you, I don't label my beliefs or fall in line with a left or right side like it's a football team. I use my common sense on each issue and come to my own conclusions. You should try it some time instead of filling your brain with far left rhetoric.

I believe you paint your rhetoric to make it sound as if your rightist ideas are good for our country. Funny thing - rhetoric.

Fine, let's just keep our borders wide open and let the majority of the population of Mexico right in our country and do absolutly nothing about it. Is that good for the country? It hasn't been so far.

Charley is going to run for president. I hear he is trying to learn Spanish, so he can qualify.

And don't forget the terrorists that have been documented to cross over the border as well Nash. Come on people get your heads out of you know where and wake up!
Also, there was a little girl from Decatur that was killed by an illegal alien. Tell her parents that our borders should be free reign!
