Hi all,

Two of our Forum Friends have spoken.   Months ago, one posted that he often will copy/paste an article just to start an argument.

And, now another says that he is here because "Conservative Christian (Fundamentalist) BASHING is sport to him."

From my post in another discussion:

But, then, there are those who are not trying to defend anything.  They are only here to argue, denigrate everyone's beliefs, and call people names.  They will attack any person or any person's family -- and, actually enjoy that.  I believe that is how some of these folks get their kicks; by defaming others -- and by trying to drive a wedge between people, doing their best to start a dispute between people who otherwise might find some ground for agreement.

These folks will always be with us; that is just the dark side of our human nature.  So, we who want civil discussion must just ignore them, ignore the "spitting contests" they are promoting, and move on to more constructive discussions.

These two gentlemen have confirmed what I wrote in the other discussion.   Thank you, my Friends.

Bless your hearts!

Once again you confirm that you misrepresent the truth.

Show me where I said, "Conservative Christian (Fundamentalist) BASHING is sport to [me]."

What I said was bashing fundamentalists is a sport for me.  All fundamentalists, and particularly wacko fundamentalists like yourself that have to twist reality around to make your belief system work.  Please don't lump yourself in with ordinary conservative Christians. I'm talking about the Bible banging, Bible worshiping, Jesus Loves Me But Hates Your Guts Christians, and any other wacko fundamentalist of any religion.

Bashing these people is not why I'm here.  But if they show up here, I will indeed have sport.

I am not here to denigrate everyone's beliefs.  I'll point out, Johhny, that you are not everyone, and everyone doesn't believe as you do.  If there is anyone on this forum that denigrates everyone's beliefs, it would be you.

Show me where I have tried to drive a wedge between others, or defamed their family.  Show me, Missouri Bill.

Hi Contendah,

You recommended a YouTube version of Ernest Tubb's song "Filipino Baby."   True, I have always loved that song, even before God blessed me by making that song a reality in my life.

Here is a rendition I like much better, for it is an actual video of Ernest Tubb performing the song:

Ernest Tubb - Filipino Baby (from E.T. TV Show)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSUi5LLDKZs

And, here are a few other songs by Tubb and other Country Western stars which should speak to anyone who is a Christian believer:

Ernest Tubb - When Jesus Calls

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piG-w_eGWaQ

Buck Owens - "Bring It To Jesus"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?N...mp;feature=endscreen

George Jones - How Beautiful Heaven Must Be

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5PMTEORjqg

Now, I find these songs beautiful -- and I appreciate the stars who are singing them.   You see, I am proud of both my Christian faith and my Southern roots.

There was a time, in the early 1960s, when I was new to California and enjoying the California fast life -- that I would deny that I liked Country Western music.  Why?  Because, in those days and in Calfornia -- it wasn't cool to be Country.  But, one day it dawned on me -- I love Country music, for it is in my soul.  To heck with folks who smirk at it; it just shows their ignorance of the musical roots of America.

Barbara Mandrell later released a song which has become her theme song -- and mine as well:

Barbara Mandrell ~ I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JVA1wkmFaw

But, Contendah, reading the smirk in your comments about Ernest Tubb -- I gather that you are also ASHAMED of your country roots.

Let me see.  You are ASHAMED of the church you attend, assuming you do.  You are ASHAMED of anyone who is a Christian believer being involved in YOUR government.  And, now, you are ASHAMED of your Southern roots?  Really?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Bill I have a funny story about ‘Filipino Baby’. I used to sing that song as a kid. I was singing it to the top of my lungs one day while I was in the Outhouse.  To my surprise when I exited the door there was an audience outside laughing at me. I agree with you about the beautiful ladies of other countries. Being a portrait artist I have accumulated several artists friends around the world.  The models are so stunning it is hard to believe they are real.

P.S. Bill contendah is a good guy. He is C0C like myself.  Like yourself he knows the Bible but unlike you he knows that you are wrong on several fronts such as OSAS and the whachacallit 1000 year thing.  The same goes for the Catholics on here. Contendah is just as passionate in his arguments as you and the Catholics are. Why can’t we all just be C0C and get along?

Quail, my Friend,

You and Contendah make strong declarations against the teachings of "Once Saved, Always Saved" and the 1000 year Millennial Kingdom of Christ.  BUT, all you do is make declarations saying loudly, "It ain't so!" -- but, you do not offer valid Scriptural proof to support your loud declarations.

I can write a thousand posts declaring that I am richer than Bill Gates.  But, if I cannot show you the money in the bank -- all I would be doing is huffing and puffing, and blowing smoke.  However, if I could show you valid accounts which showed me richer than Bill Gates -- you would have to believe it, like it or not.

So, my Friend -- where is your Scriptural bank account showing your valid proof?

True, Contendah will often blare out reams of Scripture verses -- but, he does not and cannot explain why those verses prove his contention.  So, all he is doing is holding a Bible and making loud declarations -- but, he still is not showing us his Scriptural bank account showing his valid proof and why that proof is valid.

So, toot and declare all you want; without proof it is just more smoke.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Quail,

I, too, have stories about that song.  Back in my wilder days, BD (Before Dory) -- one of my favorite night clubs was a Country Western club in Orange County, California, named the Wild Hare.  They had a great band.  During my BD days, I often dated two other young ladies -- one a Filipina and the other Hispanic -- neither of which I would have taken home to mom.  But, the reasons had nothing to do with their ethnic groups, only their moral fiber.

But, Jimmy, the leader of the C/W band at the Wild Hare had two special songs for me when I came with one of these dates:  One obviously was "Filipino Baby" -- and the other was "Mexicali Rose."  What can I say, those songs were appropriate -- and I like them both.  Later, at the end of my BD days, when I did find the woman I wanted to take home to mom, Dory -- Jimmy sang the song with more meaning.  Yep, I still love the song -- and now, I have a special reason to love it.

So far, I have not yet been able to travel to the Philippines.  I came close in the late 1950s, when twice for two month periods I was stationed on a Chinese Air Base at Tainan, Formosa (Taiwan).  Formosa is only 300 miles north of the Philippines -- so, I tell my wife that I almost made it, twice.  And, God willing, one day I will be able to visit that beautiful country.

I have a fantastic photography book of the Philippines, about 200 11x14 pages -- showing photos of many parts of the Philippines and the people.  The photography is beautiful.  But, the most amazing thing about this very well done photography art book is the photographer who traveled the Philippines and took all the photos.  Are you ready for this?  It was none other than Gina Lollobrigida!  Yes, the beautiful actress Gina Lollobrigida.  She is a great photographer.

Needless to say, I treasure this book.

Your outhouse experience reminds me of something I would see in an episode of M-A-S-H.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Here's more of Billie's idiocy.

Bill Gray blithers above, as follows"

<<<But, Contendah, reading the smirk in your comments about Ernest Tubb -- I gather that you are also ASHAMED of your country roots.the smirk in your comments about Ernest Tubb.>>>

It has become your puerile fashion of late, Bill,  to contrive accusations that I am "ashamed" of this or that.  Now you stretch to apply that accusation to what I wrote about the "Texas Troubadour", Ernest Tubb.

Here is what I wrote:   "Old  Ernest Tubb couldn't carry a tune in a bucket but somehow he got the job done."

I grew up in Nashville, the home of country music, Bill.  I lived just down the street from Webb Pierce and  Ray Stevens.   Ronnie Milsap, and Mjinnie Pearl lived a stone's throw away and Hank Williams' house (where his ex-wife Audrey lived) was just down the highway a bit.As a kid, I went swimming in Red Foley's pool.  I still have several friends and relatives in the Nashville music business. I can assure you that during Ernest Tubb's heyday, his propensity for deviating from the score was well known to all, including his close associates in the business.  This item from his Wikipedia biography characterizes the matter accurately:

<<<Tubb never possessed the best voice and actually mocked his own singing. He told an interviewer that 95 percent of the men in bars would hear his music on the juke box and say to their girlfriends, "I can sing better than him," and Tubb added they would be right. In fact, he missed some notes horribly on some recordings. When Tubb was recording "You Don't Have to Be a Baby to Cry" in 1949 and tried to hit a low note, Red Foley, his duet partner at the time, was sitting in the booth when somebody said, "I bet you wish you could hit that low note." Foley replied, "I bet Ernest wishes he could hit that note." >>>

So, you see, what I wrote was not a "smirk" by any measure.  Ernest Tubb's Grand Ole Opry colleagues  were not smirking when they kidded him about his singing and neither was I in what I wrote.

And by the way, you conveniently chose to ignore the other part of my commentary on Ernest Tubb, namely "but somehow he got the job done." That observation has absolutely nothing resembling a "smirk." If anything, it was a compliment.  It is understandable that you chose to ignore that, though, since it fails to support your recurrent and inane pattern of accusing me of being "ashamed of" ____________(fill in the blank).

You did not answer the question:  So, my Friend, which do you have -- a religion -- or a relationship, with Jesus Christ?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Bless your little old heart!

Wrong, Bill. I have cited plenty of scripture to you concerning both the "End Times", the "rapture" and related subject matter and I have several times shown you why the scriptures do not support "once saved-always saved".  Your responses have been consistently canned, shallow, and inept.  Just saying that I have not posted adequate responses does not make it so.

You characterize my discussions on those issues as "loud declarations" and you assert that I am just unloading "reams of scripture verses."  If you would review what I have posted, you would find that I have indeed cited much scripture, since there is much scripture to support my position on these issues.  BUT you will also find that I have provided commentary and analysis to show just what I have concluded from those scriptures and why I have reached those conclusions.
